THC Foundation

I found this web site while looking for help to get my father medicinal marijuana in Colorado. He suffers from chronic back pain. I was just wondering if any one has had past experiance or information about the foundation. I called them and they seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

(I am not sure if we are supposed to post links here)

Thanks

Hi ninjax,

Welcome to the site.

This site while concerned with the medical usage of marijuana, is more tuned into the growing of the plant.

One of the sister sites, www.marijuana.com has more information probably regarding your question than we would here.

I personally don't know anything about the site in question. Why not pop over to marijuana.com, register, and ask your question there?

Good luck in your search.

The thc-foundation is located in Portland Or. and they service Oregon,Washington,Colorado,Hawaii, and I believe they will be heading to California soon.

the staff is great and yes very very helpfull. The way they work is you must first send them a few copies (about 5 pages) of current medical history currently they can go back as far as 2003 year, once they recieve this from you they will then call you viahone and set up an appointment for you,the cost for the appointment is 200.00 but they do have a lil discount for those that meet "low income standereds" drops it to 150.00 (every lil bit helps).

you should plan on being to the appointment "on time" dont be late it could take 2 months to get a new appointment.

you will first be educated with a short video, followed by forms to fill out for there records, then you will see the nurse who will review with you your medical records and this will be a good time for any questions you may have.

after you see the nurse you will then be in-line to see the Doctor, there doctors are very nice and understanding as well, NOTE: it is also a good rule of thumb to focus on your condishon and how cannabis helps you......think about it cause the doc will probibly ask you how you think it helps..

your appointment could last anywhere from 2 1/2 to 5 hours it just depends on how busy they are that day.

once you've seen the Doc he will sign your permit and send you on your way, you will need to renew it every year.

I hope this helps,

Stoney

Sorry, but if you really need a license, just go to your regular doctor and it's free when you do it at a regular checkup. If they included this license, maybe yes.

All the forms are online for free, but the state charges an annual fee for the license, which you will be paying on top of this place it looks to me.

That place even pretty much tells you what to say. Sorry, but if you're having to go to a place like this to get a medical license, I doubt you need it.

Instead, try changing the laws, don't abuse what we need please.....

I've gotten my license for 5 years now going to my doctor that I've seen for 15 years before that.. And he sure doesn't charge me. If I have an appointment, he's filled them out then, or I've dropped them at his office and he's filled them out and mailed them to me. Never, ever a charge for it.

Think about it people, yes the laws should be changed, we're trying here in colorado and nevada. If you live here, go vote this november to change these laws, then you wouldn't need to waste this money here.

Sorry, but if you really need a license, just go to your regular doctor and it's free when you do it at a regular checkup. If they included this license, maybe yes.(I have no regular doctor. Its not that easy to find a good doctor when you don't know anybody in your area. Pluss doctors give me panic attacks I hardly ever go unless i pretty much have to...I come from a state and a situation that doesn't believe in MMJ. I also have had doctors over perscribe, under perscribe, mis-diagnose, I've had a side affect from a pill that made me cry in complete unfounded depression and hopeless dispare for 6 hours I felt I had nothing to live for and had every reason to live and be happy at the time[side affect was never before heard of from the particular "new" pill that was perscribed FOR anxiety], as well as a bad surgery due to many bad judgement calls... So don't tell me just go to my regular doctors they'll mess you up.)

All the forms are online for free, but the state charges an annual fee for the license, which you will be paying on top of this place it looks to me.(Incentives:Growing at home[complete control of medacine], can't afford to go through a ton of doctors that think my medacine is gateway drug[bias opinions], etc....)

That place even pretty much tells you what to say. Sorry, but if you're having to go to a place like this to get a medical license, I doubt you need it.( I can think of a bunch of legitimate reasons as to why some one would need a place like this, and don't be so quick to judge people based on opinions. Allot of people that "need it" use the THC Foundation...)

Instead, try changing the laws, don't abuse what we need please..... ( I understand your concerns about abuse of what "we" have. I don't think you understand though that you don't need to be terminally ill to benefit from the use of MMJ. The people that abuse the system are the ones that sell our medacine. How you get legal shouldn't matter. If your using MJ for medical purpose reguardless of what the law says of "medical" it should be legal. So if your an activist you should be helping liberate as many as possible. There is great power in numbers...)

I've gotten my license for 5 years now going to my doctor that I've seen for 15 years before that.. And he sure doesn't charge me. If I have an appointment, he's filled them out then, or I've dropped them at his office and he's filled them out and mailed them to me. Never, ever a charge for it.( I hope I find a primary care doc that compassionate...)

Think about it people, yes the laws should be changed, we're trying here in colorado and nevada. If you live here, go vote this november to change these laws, then you wouldn't need to waste this money here. (Not every one lives in Colorado or Nevada...)

Thanks

I sympathize with you. After a horrible back injury, back surgery only relieved some of the pain. Been on medication for far too long, actually relying on it to even preform daily things, and still to this day, I have chronic pain including back spasms, nerve pain and damage, and mobility issues. The green plant has helped me with everyday things, including knocking out the horrible pain and giving me better mobility. I know you are on the right track when looking into more natural approaches with your dads problem. Also, think about accupuncture along with a medicinal organic.
