Pic of the Week: Gallery

This weekly contest is great, I love it! What about showcasing the winners in a gallery. In the contest, we vote on 'subject' and are lacking technical information. ie: strain, stage of growth, style of growth, type of camara used, any modifications to the pic, things of that nature.

I know you can do a search to find previous POTW entries, and winners, but I thought a 'Sticky' thread showcasing previous winners would be kinda neat.

Any thoughts?

I took the time to 'search' and find all the previous winners. Below are links to them.

If this is a good or great idea, and Admin doesn't have the time to do it, I could try to put it together. Though, I'm not extremely proficient with computer things. Decent, but not proficent.

yeah, people are supposed to tell if the picture is modified in any way. But i havent seen that yet.

Also, i kinda agree there is some very important information missiong from the POTw pictures as you mention. In fact, I think the whole contest is slightly skewed because people have diff MP digicams that produce different quality pictures. However, i know the answer thats comming..... "its too much work" or "if it aint broke, why fix it?"

I think a gallery of all the winners is a great idea. I was looking thru some of the old winners thanks to your links and there's some nice stuff in there from before I started paying attention to this contest.

I agree with your idea of technical info also. Sometimes, there will be tech info on the original post of the pic, but when it goes to the contest thread, that info is stripped away.

.....difficult! Say, if 'I' were to do it, I could have the winners PM me with a small summary of 'what(s)', then each pic's title would be the day they won. Void any 'reply' to the thread, meaning, make the thread a sticky in the Visual Inspirations forum on top of the page and make it so it can't be replied to except for the new winner's pics and comments.

I guess 'someone' would have to be willing to handle it on a regular basis.

Don't know, I'm just stoned thinking of ideas again!
