i have been pondering posting this for a while, i was some what inspired by a number of things. the first being the sucess of the picture of the week. the second being the VMA's and finally the upcomming emmeys. so what i was thinkin of is the hc.commies, or maybe if this takes of you/we can call them something different. i was thinking that a yearly award thread, or something to that idea was in order, and to be honest i have thought about this many a late night.

i figured that it might need to be a little different then simply just a poll. i was either thinkin of a selection/nomination comittie, of various visible members or possible having the mods nominate different threads or growers... i can see it now...

i have even gone as far as thinkin of awards to give, i will list them in a minute. now before anyone thinks i'm off my rocker, i think this would be fun/rewarding for all as it higlights some of the key threads or growers of the year. i am dead sober and have been for weeks, to be honest i have little seedlings, and thats the next time i will be smoking... i say this because i'm not crazy, but i think this can work. think about award night... you/we could reveal the awards on a schedual and all, you/we could shatter the record number of users online and have a great time spreading the best of the best around... no on to some award catigories....

- best journal of the year
- best tip of the year
- funniest thread of the year
- worst thread of the year
- grower of the year
- member of the year
- most improved grower
- best indoor grow
- best out door grow
- best grow with the shaddiest equip

and i can go on... you could even go further and have different strain catigories for best of the bubble gums, or best blueberry.

these awards could be a light hearted fun time on the boards, no hurting anyone and no flamming, although there could also be troll of the year... anyway hope this can happen, just a thought in my mind, and now on hc.com. let me know what you think and maybe you/we could get this in the works, maybe present them in the new year... if not i guess i'll keep dreamin.... and hopefully soon, smokin

i do like the idea but we would need a better idea of how it was all to work... got a plan on how it should work. I dunno about awards other than a spot in the gallery or something...sounds like it has some promise though

... we select a nomination comittie of about 5-7 growers who then go about reading and finding the best threads or posts (depending) that fits that particular award. i think 20 would be good to decide between. that comittie then decides on the 10 best of those 20.

we start a sub forum in the tiki, about the hc.commies. here is where the comittie can post links to the ones and decide upon who gets nominated. if this can be a restricted forum, then great, if not well pming will work. once there are 10 threads for every award to give out we are set. the sub forum would open up on december 1st, and the threads posted in there would be the different awards, a description of them, and the links to the nominies. all of these threads must be from the past year, hence a yearly tradition. the entire community would vote on the best thread or post (depending on the award) through the entire month of december. this would be conducted via a poll like the POTW. if we could keep the results hidden even better. once jan 1st commes, we tally the votes and post the winners. sometime maybe the first or second week of jan.

if it can be done, it would be best to give every member one vote per award, that way there is no screwin with them. i like the hidden idea, then no one can see the results before they vote, and the winners would be announced on a special day where attendance would soar to see the winners.

this is a rough idea i thougth of when walking my dog, any comments and changes or cocerns are very much welcome. so what do ya'll think about that?

.... so all i need is the aproval and i'll select a committie. then we need to get a locked spot in the tiki to start preparing the goods. there is a little over a month left before dec 1, so this might be biting the bullet... seems people have liked the idea, just slow to give the go ahead and what not...

OP - get the mods in action.. a great new duty for yourself. i myself will not be a part of the committie, i just wanna get it all organised and well i guess over see it all... but i in now way want part of the selection process... there are better members for that. to be honest i have a short list of like 15 people i wanna ask to do it... 10 that will be pm'ed adn if any decline then well the other 5 get a chance...

well i'll still wait in limbo till i hear the word from the man....
