This site covers almost every aspect of growing. There are fourms and sub forums on almost everything. There is the construction forum that will tell you how to build a grow area. There is a lighting forum that will tell you how to properly light up the room, but there isn't a forum for the rest of the tools and equipment such as environmental controls like tds/ph pens or strips, temp and humidity controls,co2 burners, compressed gas (co2), dehumidifiers and humidifiers, a/c units, and lets not forget cameras, the list goes on and on. I think a gear guide that could be a sub-forum in the construction forum would be an asset to this site and its members because many of the tools and equip are pretty pricey and some are better than others. I would like to see how the other members rate products that I might consider buying one day.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks djweed, that thread just backs up the idea that we need a gear guide. There were many good points made in that thread for and against a "product review" on this site. I think the biggest problem would be keeping it honest, but I think that the mods at this site are pretty good at spotting a bad seed when they see one so I still belive that it is possiable to have a gear guide here. If the gear guide did nothing else, atleast it would let a grower see what products are avaliable on the market today, without having to visit every grow store in the country.

I was thinking about this today. Of course the biggest problem would be spam, but that might be mitigated a bit if posting i the forum had similar requirement to the tiki lounge (a certain amount of karma, member for a while and a fair number of posts). That would make spamming impractical, especially since spammers could still be booted even if they took the time to build up their stats. I've wasted enough money on crap and I'm sure plenty of others have as well. I've also found some stuff I really like. A centralised forum for sharing experiences with various products would complement the other forums here at HC perfectly. Why leave equipment the weak link in a growers "tool box" when there's an abundence of knowledge presented here on every other topic? We should make a gear guide forum ![]()

I think a gear guide would be very helpful . When buying off the net words and pictures sometimes don't tell the whole story . FMJ | ||
