Thumbs up Flavoring your pot in Hydroponics

With regards to the citric acid/suger addition for hydro.... Just got the first crop coming through now that had treatment for whole grow and the smell and taste is greatly improved... gives the buds a more earthy wholesome smell instead of the sickly sweet that this strain has previously had and the taste from a sample was much smoother....

Gudday Phantom/Takshaka,
Glad you got some benefit from that, I gleaned it from alt binaries pot cultiation about 5 years ago and have stuck with it ever since.

You get 1 litre (1/4 of a gallon) of warm water then add 1 ounce (28gms) of Raw sugar and 28 gms (1oz) of Citric Acid. mix it up till all the crystals disolve then store it in a opaque bottle. Add at the rate of 1 ml per litre or 1 coke capful per Gallon

It will get the secondary metabolic pathways opened, the citric acid donates a protein to the raw sugar (Glucose) so the plant can absorb it, we get a symbiotic soup that does wonders for taste and smell in our hydro crops. For the last wek of a hydro grow you can use it with just fresh water, it works real well.

Regds,
OzGrowa

{Mod Note: I just fixed the recipe from '(1oz) of Raw brown sugar' to '(1oz) of Citric Acid' like it should have been. }

I'll be adding this one to my recipe book along with OZs h202 recipe.

How often do you add this to your nutes.

Hey Oz got any more good recipes we can try.

OzGrowa - what about the citric acid? Did you miss it out from your recipe or am I missing something?

Can you start doing this at anytime?

What was the H2O2 recipe?

Thanks for the info

citric acid

citric acid = synthetic lemon juice.

My guess is you could use real lemon juice. Dunno what difference this'd make if any, but it does contain a lot of citric acid so it'd do the job.

Not a Mongoose- lemon juice does contain citric acid in it's dissolved form but also other compounds as do other citrus fruits. The lemon concentrates you buy are the same. Considering it costs bugger all anyway you may as well use the concentrated citric acid to keep the proportion of acid to suger as per recipe.

Well, I've searched high and low and haven't been able to find any citric acid . What's it sold for?
