I think they're talking about aquaculture type of systems that involve a recirculating system and fish to provide the nutrients, sometimes its known as just water culture. It should be okay to use with a standard hydro method, DWC, NFT, E&F

Whats the brand your referring to?

I can't confirm this as I don't grow hydroponically, but I would suspect that the site you are looking at is lying in an attempt to sell you something else. Do you have a link to the site?

As far as I know DWC hydroponics differ only slightly from normal hydroponics and I cannot think of any reason why an organic nutrient would act any differently, as the nutrient is dissolved in the water and taken by the plant the same way as non organic nutrients dissolved in water.
