The question is in the title. Is it necessary/beneficial to the end product to flush plants grown with known organic soil and fertilizers? I know this information is somewhere around here just cannot find it. Thanks....

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I grow organically and flush - indoors and out. I should qualify that statement with the fact that my indoor hempy's can't be termed 100% organic because of some of the Foxfarm nutes I use in them. Outdoors and indoors in soil however are grown strictly organic. I have a hempy indoor grow nearly finished and not only do I flush the buckets, I gave the girls a bath with rain water I collected from a recent storm to rinse off any dust and other uglies that might have collected on them. I live in a not-so-humid area and my buds are not hard as rocks so I felt comfortable in doing that. If they were any harder or my humidity was high to begin with, I never would do that. But the flushing goes on regardless. I feel it just lends itself to a smoother, tastier smoke.

My guess is that is about as organic as this garden will ever get. The last several cycles were the same. No flushing yet but will go through the hassle this time to see if there is an improvement I suppose. Greendragon, thanks for the welcome back. I hope to be a bit more active around here than I have been.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | stoney trees, have you compared ? That is flushed and not flushed. I thought that flushing was for non organics but have seen so much conflicting info that I am confused. My initial thoughts were due to the way nutrients are delivered in an organic system that flushing was unnecessary. However if you feel the need to drop Nitrogen (I am assuming you mean in organi form) then maybe a flush is a good idea.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ive compared plenty of times. Imo the organic unflushed or not will burn and taste better. Reason i stiop adding N is because thats suppost to be the main cause of bad taste. I quit feeding N and the plants start yellowing up quik. I dont flush because 1, its annoying...And 2, I feel it disrupts the microbe population a lot. Its like with fish tanks. If you dont get a GOOD microbe/bacteria population its unhealthy. Fish can easily die. Cleaning the filter and half the tank out at once can easily cause those bacteria populations to drop. To the point where they cant keep up with the new water and tank... So Im using the same concept for organics, since the microbes/bacteria are some of the most important things imo. I figure not to much runoff, not to many microbes lost. When I water I get a few drips. Chems I flush. Even 2 weeks and I dont think they compare. Last edited by stoney-trees; 10-21-2009 at 07:07 PM.. | ||
