| Emphatically, Yes! 1. It is an extremely bad idea to dump the refuse from your garden in your garbage can. You might as well put up a sign and wait for the cops to arrive. Granted, people don't go through your garbage on a regular basis, but why take a chance on someone (the garbage man for instance) noticing the smell or seeing the stems or leaves. 2. In order to maintain an optimum level of security, you must be prepared to compost your garden refuse. A simple recipe for composting follows. a. dig a hole, save the soil. b. anything that grows in soil can be thrown into compost pile, including coffee grounds. C. No animal products (meat, milk, etc) and no oils (corn, canolla, olive, etc...)and no lawn fudge. d. Mix in soil with each deposit of compostable material. This promotes the breakdown of your refuse, and helps to keep the smell down. e. make sure your stems and leaves are covered with other things (soil, grass clippings, etc..) F. Water it once in a while G. Turn and mix every time you add to the pile. This will keep the area more compact, as things will be broken down more quickly. G. you may wish to have two piles next to each other, one for new (unbroken down material, and the other for stuff that has nearly decomposed to black gold. H. Once material has reached this stage, sprinkle it in your flower/garden/indoor garden. I cannot stress enough that composting is an essential component in security for your garden. All the other benefits will become self-evident when you begin to practice this art. One final note. I hope that you are all smoking bud, but before you go tossing those leaves. Try experimenting with making hash from the resin sacks on those leaves before you compost them. Peace through Anarchy J | ||

| GREAT Advice.. most people don't realize that police consider garbage public domain, and they don't need a warrant to go picking thru yours. So anything else that could incriminate you should be carefully discarded as well. Also a great recipe for a compost pile, compost is the richest soil you can use for planting, one suggestion though try to keep it shaded.. it works best when it's dark and moist. | ||

| yo, i have a question.. okay first, i have a huge composter and there is lots of ready to use compost, but it's made out of lots of fruit skins, egg shells (they're definatly compostable! they're GREAT to add), grass, and other plant/tree matter from my normal (not marijuana) garden. okay, my question is if i am able to directly transplant my herb plants at a month old from their small containers into a big container completely filled with compost? there will ONLY be compost in the big container, absolutly no potting/natural soil. will this become way too overly nutrient filled for the plants at this stage? or can you actually start pot seeds in the soil? thanx Ryan666 ![]() | ||
