![]() | in an old barn there is an aria that used to have pigs waitin to be slaugtered. this was a very long time ago. will it be an ok fert if i dig it up and mix it with water ? what about old dumps. i dig lots of antique bottles from, i went there recently ang the aria i dug up is just overgrown to the hilt, every thing is taller and fatter in that aria. my q is with all the oyster shells in the dump, will that soil be to alkaline for some babys ![]()

I found wildly differing NPK values, high phosphorous warnings.... the only thing every site agreed on was that pig manure needed to be well composted, and a year is well done if you ask me. Let's wait.. maybe Organic will weigh in with the straight scoop. | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() | You mean, the straight scoop on the straight poop? ![]() I would guess if it's a hundred years old, you aren't going to have to worry about pathogens, and I agree with Slim about it probably being pretty well devoid of nutrients. But if stuff is growing really well there, that's a sign the soil is good. O | ||
