Garden Lime as Neutralizer

Would garden lime be a good soil pH neutralizer?

Lime raises pH.
If your soil is too acid, then lime will help. But it is never a good idea to start adjusting pH until you know what your actual soil pH is. Have you a way to test it??

There's no way to know until you test it.
