I will start my grow in just a few weeks; need a little more clearification. I wanted to do an entirely organic grow but seem to be lost with a few things. The part im lost on is the P because from what i hear its not ussally water soluble. I know i can buy organic fertilizer that contain N, P, and K that i could mix in the soil. This is confusing because it doesnt release right away. Also im a little confused about flushing soil that contains ferts mixed in. So maybe i might have to go organic during vegg and organic/chemical during flowering. Is it hard to find water soluble nutrients that contain high amounts of P. Any one have any advice about the water soluble part? Thanks

| You're right, most organic P is not water soluble and isn't immediately available when mixed into the soil. Fortunately the plants don't need a lot of P until flowering. So if you mix bone meal, rock phosphate, etc. into the soil from the beginning, by the time the plants are flowering the P will be there for them. Bat guano is water soluble, and some of it is high in P. You can make tea out of that if they're not getting enough P from the soil during flowering. | ||

![]() | I plan to use kelp meal tea and blood meal tea for veg. and my plant will use bone meal when flowered and if i think she needs a little boost ill give her some bat guano high in P. Will this do the trick? Thanks a lot! Last edited by rpo503; 07-12-2002 at 04:23 AM..

| Sul-po-mag (sulfate of potash magnesia) is 0-0-22. I use it as my primary K source because while kelp is often mentioned as having K, there's only 1%-2.5% so it would take a lot to balance that with the 12% N of blood meal. But I still use kelp because it has other benefits besides K (growth hormones, enzymes and trace elements). | ||
