![]() | Seeds are said to have all the nutrients they need in them when they germinate up until they are sprouts. I was thinking that if someone had enough crappy seeds (ones they don't plan on germinating), if crushing up all the seeds into powder (making sure they won't germinate) would work as fertilizer? Would this have negative effects as well as positive effects? | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() | Some species of seeds have seed casings that are somewhat toxic to surrounding plants. It takes a whole lotta seeds mind you- the one little one that falls off near every plant is no cause for concern. But vast quantities of seeds ground and sprinkled might affect the soil enough to cause a problem. I just learned this from reading Birds 'n Blooms" magazine- evidently it is a problem that many people have near busy bird feeding stations. I am not saying that MJ seeds have this affect- just that they might. Of course it's your call. | ||
