Human pee as fert
permalink

Hello

I recently read that human urine is a good organic fert.. Seems
it's high in urea (nitrogen) and is totally sterile. It appears the only problems with using it are odor's. Has anyone had experience using this ? I believe it's also good for PH down ?

Unless you dilute the urine you will be burning your plants. I would suggest finding other organic sources of nitrogen.

Unless of course you like playing with urine and going through the trouble of diluting it for your plants. In that case....have fun

Hey you hail from my area. Nass or Suff, E or W?

Depends who's pee it is.

Yes, the urine was diluted and added to an organic nute mixture.
I read about it on the Nirvana web site, so this might be some
European method ? I laughed when I saw it but the author was
dead serious.
Now as far as playing with the stuff, yuk. But if I could get Jennifer
Aniston to squat and pee on my girls while I watched I would risk the burn.

I am from the SE Nassau area.

I used it one year, it worked great, it was outdoors though..

keep a close eye on youre pH after you feed, even diluted amounts can cause the pH to drift on the low side, humane fluids are very acidic, but using urine is a very, very good way of recycling, thats why I would use it again, just make sure you Flush

good luck!

PH 6.8
permalink

Hi Woodsman

I just tested my PH last nite and I got 6.8. I am in my 4th week of flowering in 4 gal pots with MG potting soil. My fert schedule is 1/2
concentration once a week MG 15 30 15. What do you think ? Should I lower my PH or leave it and if I need to lower it what
would you recomend to lower it(don't tell me urine he he)? Thanx for all your help.

6.8 in soil is PERFECT.

1/2 strength once a week sounds good.. maybe one week give it a pure watering, then the next a full dose, to make sure them buds get nice and big.. either way it will work out nicely, im sure.

steady as she goes!

Ummmm. I would not pee on my plants. From what I have heard it contains salts your plants aren't going to want. Even dilluted it seems like a crazy idea. Use some Kelp tea instead...

Welcome to hc.com, Philindia.

There are nute meters that determine the levels of N, P and K in the soil. Most growers go by how the plants look or just follow a regular schedule of fertilizing though.

i use my compost heap as a urinal several times a day. it ensures that young plants will always have explosive growth with all the high n in it. its almost to strong though. the soil makes the lower leaves on young plants turns a paler color of green like the n is getting leached form it.
