| Without an NPK there is no way to know what nutes it provides, and it is probably quite weak in macronutes like most seaweed ferts. I would get another fert high in both P and K, with half as much or less N. Seaweed is generally good to use in combination with other nutes. | ||

| The NPK of worm castings varies depending on what they eat, but around .5-.5-.3 is a reasonable estimate. Since there is as much N as P, it won't combine with seaweed to make an appropriate ratio for flowering. It's generally not the best idea to use organics and chemicals together because chemical ferts tend to kill off the soil life that is necessary to break down organic nutes. The 6-14-8 could be used alone as a flowering fert. It wouldn't hurt to use the seaweed with it, although the plants may not get as much benefit from it as they would in a completely organic grow. The extra K should help. Dabuddha, how do you use your bone meal? I gave up on that because it takes so long to break down, and not being water soluble I couldn't use it in tea to give them a phosphorus boost when they needed it. | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I definetly understand, I had a few acclimation grows to get the hang of the bone if i wasn't so stubborn probably would of gone to something water soluble and quick to break down. What I like though is once you get the hang its really easy because it becomes active for weeks. I start flower after transferring from 3-5 gallon but my 3 gallon mix has a good amount of bone meal about 3 tablespoons. I've noticed it seems to take 1.5-2 weeks to begin to break down and then acts over the next 2 weeks after it's broken down so, timing seems to be key. then when adding more, I just sprinkle over the soil and water in so for an average grow 2 weeks before flower 4 tablespoons acts first 3 weeks flower at flower 5 tablespoons acts week 3-5 at week 2/3 6 tablespoons acts week 5-7 To me it doesn't sound like alot of fert but it does the job, i do liberally foliar feed up until about week 4-5 and each transplant get probably 1/4-1/2 cup castings, but the bone seems to be getting the P job done. I also don't just pour all in at once the doses get broken up over 2-3 waterings so usually 2 tablespoons at a time, and i haven't had many problems. Also when i started the organic I noticed very slow growth so I started supplementing with some diluted hydro nutes...terrible idea. i ended up dependant on the nutes and flushing frequently dealing with salt build up and burn. Then I read that the bone is difficult to break down and requires very active soil. I started watching my soil PH and the purity of the water I was adding and added h202 and superthrive. I have also seen a significant difference from raising room temperature and subsequently soil temperature, I run my room around 88 degrees and water frequently. I use a lab quality microscope from like the 70s to check for soil activity..helpful. The cool thing about Organic for me is that you are really managing a microscopic ecosystem and all sorts of strange little organisms show up. Im sure alot of what goes on is beyond the capabilities of this scope though. I probably over complicate things a bit but it's a hobby I try (key word is try) to enjoy growing as much as harvesting though. let me know if you have any recommendations, i've watched the organic board for a few years now, and could learn a thing or a thousand from ya brindie this is turning into a long post... Right now i have two large purple #1 plants and my personal favorite mazar and they are both in week 6, mazar is fine, the purple is the slowest thing i've ever seen it looks like my normal week 3-4 and it's making me unsure when the final bone feeding will be, the purples are looking like they could go 12 weeks easily at this pace so maybe I under ferted a little they are both over 6 feet. look out for my POTW i predict 3-4 foot bud on my mazar just in time for christmas. ![]() | ||
