Hello, I'm from NC... I have 3 female plants and 1 unknown. This Thread is not a question, its just for me to meet other people who grow near me and deal with the same conditions thats I grow in. Here is some stats about my plants...

Comments: Planted in March, Pruned in June, very bushy plant.

Well thats is some info about the plants I have left so far this year... I started out with 9 plants, Killed 2 because they were maturing too slow.. I killed 3 males, and Now I have 3 females and 1 unknown, I think it will be female. All the plants were from good bagseed and I just guessed the strain judging from the leafs...

Well Hey Redbud. I should sound off since my amount of plants has changed also.

Lets see, last night I pulled two flowering male plants, drying in the basement for hash oil. It looks like I have 12 definate females, and 3 unknown. One small plant which was all by it self was eatin. It had the leaves off first......last week....who knows.

Hey Southeast HC-Buds and Budettes... Good idea Redbud - this is an exciting time for SE growers - we're on the home stretch. Bugs and nutes and other similar problems are fading as we face a growing menace as our grrrlz become more attractive to thieves with each passing day. I was ripped bad last year so I'm a little once-bitten-twice-shy right about now. But I'm keeping the faith - our girls are getting to be such fine young women, aren't they? I started with 26 seedlings hoping that half would be females and, allowing for various losses, I would have been happy with 10 females. BUT - I've got 19 females in six locations! Well, maybe only 18 - one of them is an incredible, bushy, 8 foot sativa without the slightest bit of sexual differentiation - weird, like an enuch or something. How can it be this far along without showing sex? It has long and multitudinous branches like a girl but I'm in denial about what could be male primordia at some of the nodes - yet they haven't developed into flowers in like three weeks since I first spotted them. Anyway, 18 females is a good tally. All of these are from seeds I saved from various bags of good dope during the last two years so I can't speak about their pedigrees - Four look to be pure indica phenotype (6-7' tall), another four look like more-or-less 50-50 mixtures (6-8') and the rest are glorious sativas (7-9'). All but one of the indicas are already budding out in tempting colas, and most of the rest have rampaging flowering on dozens and dozens (hundreds?) of grow-tips. I'm totally stoked. The yellowing fan leaves of impending budness are increasingly apparent on most of the girls. Fun, fun, fun! But there is one fly in the ointment: One of my 7-foot tall indica-sativas has become a hermie - but only a very few male flowers, maybe two or three flowers on less than half of the stalks - I keep pinching them off when I find them but I see there are already some seeds forming. This has caused me to ponder several things. First question - will this plant still produce good smoke (the preponderance of female flowers would lead me to believe so but maybe the hermie-hormones will limit THC production?)? Second, is it realistic to think I can get every male flower on a plant this big and dense? - in which case should I sacrifice it before it impregnates other plants downwind? And finally, will the seeds produced by self-fertilization grow into hermies or will they be normal seeds? Viva southern dirt and sun!

Hey Alabama....lets see good to have a forum to discuss these things. Lets see....you had a few questions. Ill see if I can help at all. I have pulled all of my males...once I was definate of that. Male's flower a lot quicker than females around 2-3 weeks and they will open. So its hard to know for sure that they didnt pollinate anywhere, or anything. I would move the plant, or use it for hash oil. You've got 17 other females correct? Shouldnt matter too much. I'd rather guarantee success, than having lots of seeds in your bud. But also Ive read that feminized seeds are from hermies pollinating a female. But I believe they are special geneticly induced hermies. So in your case it could be very different.

Oh yea I took off pods and smoked them in a bowl with hash oil, from an earlier male plant and man I was soooooooooooo stoned today! And all the smokage was produced by me. It was a very satisfying feeling.

Well, Alabama I also have a big plant thats is late to flower... today I went to look at my plant after I did some bud pruning last night, and come to find out my Unknown plants is either female or hermie... Today I saw the first white hairs forming at the growing tips... This plant is going to be pretty big.. its very potient I can tell from the looks and because most the bugs are on the plant but it is a sativa/indica plant from bag seed... My plant that is either from kush strain or some type of indica is starting to make real buds now... I got a fat 1/4 oz of sensimilla already on my most mature female... but she is only 3ft tall and very bushy. She was planted in march.

Last night I tryed something a friend told me that I'll share with you to see what you think... but wile the growing tips on a female are just turning into buds on the top of the bud you can take and cut the very tip of the bud.. by doing this it is sopost to make your buds very fat and heavy, in a few weeks.

Anyways... I put my journal online. This is new to me. I have only 5 left. I got nailed early by thieves. Have you guys had problems with watering? I visit my ladies once a week and they are so dry every time. I have to carry water about 200 yards and in the heat... man!
Any ways... Hoping to get some in this year

Yea shadow I have saw your grow its lookin pretty good. I use 2 leter bottles to water mine... I have 4 females and I usually use 3 2 leter bottles... I usually just put all the bottles and what ever i need to take with me in a bucket.. I have to water ever 2-3 days because we are having a very very bad drought.

Yeah, the 2-liter Coke bottle Club - got me so many of those - also use gallon milk jugs with screw-on tops - fill them all with reverse-osmosis filtered water, jam the big back pack full and take off walkin' - you know the drill. But yesterday was extraordinary - I reached my area about an hour before sunset, dark pockets of shadow surrounded the pool of dim filtered light at the grow area... It must have been their "off cycle" but there wasn't a mosquito to be heard/seen. But what really made it magic was the presence of a zillion lightning bugs! I've never been there so late in the day before - now I see this space as an ethereal holy place. I had seen these beautiful creatures around my other spot last year but not in such numbers. And add to the beauty of these flying wonders were two little rabbits and a racoon that went scurrying across my path on the march in... enough to make a guy a tad sentimental. Excuse me if I'm making you sick!

Mr/Ms Shadow - Watering once a week with only a couple bottles per plant during the heat of the summer is really borderline sufficient - you may have to give 'em a little more - plus you guys up there have been getting higher temps than even down here in Dixie. If you're gonna "feed your head" ya gotta water your girls... Grow On...

Oh yeah, Mr/Ms Hermie is going down - I agree widcha on that Buzz... But what about the seeds from self-pollination - what's with that? Does anyone really know if those seeds are going to be normal (50-50), femmes, or more herms?

Wow. Its cool to see this many people talking in this thread. Shadow....yea watering is a pain for me around here. They were really dry last time I watered...and probably dry right now....rain is supposed to be on its way here very soon. Hopefully atleast.
When I water I fill 5 gallon jugs of water and go water them with my girlfriend. There is a river near that we get water from occasionally.

Its really getting fun to grow right now...I harvested two males and smoked the pods and have gotten pretty high. Its going to be some nice weed when it is complete. I call the basement where me and my girlfriend hang out....heaven.
