Lightbulb Solar Still--got h2o
permalink

for many hauling water to secluded and far off plots in the backwoods is a daunting task. what if there was a way to get water from seemingly nothing. well there is, its called a solar still, something i learned from the special forces. you first dig a hole anywere you want big enough to fit a 5-gal. bucket in it, leaving room all around the bucket to stuff with grass, leaves, or any other live green foliage. then cover the entire hole with a black plastic sheet ie garbage bag, and place a rock in the center of the plastic directly above the bucket. condensation will evaporate from the green foliage and collect on the underside of the plastic. There it will build up and eventually drain to the lowest spot (the rock).Eventually pure h20 will drain into the collection bucket. This will work i have done it myself however it takes time. this is not the most efficent way to water your plants but i thought some of you would like to gain this piece of knowledge....

however with frequent changes of the foliage and perhaps a few more buckets you can produce alot more water

that's a good idea stinkey... i think i'm goin to use this idea in my next grow next year. if i used a few buckets i could get enough water to supply my plants when they really need it in times that i can't lug jugs of water out to my garden. thanks
