Reflected light from the MOON? never completely dark

I had thought about this a while ago, but it just popped in my head again. For indoor grows it is said to have no light leak in during flowering or else you might grow hermies or stunt the plants or what not. But if you grow outdoor you never really get 12 hours of pure darkness with that pesky full moon lighting everything up.

So I got two questions (may be a little stoney or something)

1) If marijuana is supposed to flower in 12 hours of darkness how can it ever start to flower if the moon is around, maybe the first "new moon" they start to flower?
2)If the light reflected from the moon does affect the plants, then do they flower slower while the moon is half to full? Could this be the reason why flowering takes sooo much longer with outdoor? Come to really think about it, why does outdoor takes so damn long to flower?
3) Although hermies are not that common, could that may be caused by the non-12 hour dark period, and that most plants are just genetically stronger and won't grow balls if not having 12 hours of dark while flowering.

I have a bunch more questions about this sort of minimal light and outdoor flowering, but I will save them as follow-ups unless someone sets my retarded ass straight

cheers

That is a good arguement but I wouldn't think the light being reflected off the moon would even be able to reach earth. Some times when the moon is quite close maybe (like harvest moon). The moon can make you cast shadows so...

Don't spend much time out there after dark, do you??
The moon is bright. I can easily read under a full moon.

I don't know the answers to the moon light questions- I've read lots of speculations, but no concrete factoid type answers. It's not something I can control so I never put much time into thinking about it.

I may be off into fantasy land here so I'll just chuck it out and duck

I read somewhere (note to self: must keep links) that once the plant has begun to flower, after a certain time (insert own guess) the photoperiod doesn't matter so much, or rather an interuption in the dark period has no effect

If that is so, then the plants have a full cycle of the moon (nearly) to begin flowering before they're hit by strong moonlight.

I still don't interupt my plants dark period during flowering though

i read something once that said a full moon can delay initial flowering a day or two at the very most. once your plants are a month into flowering though, the full moon likely will have no effect whatsoever. so, it is not anything you need to worry about. i've never heard anything anything about the moon causing hermies.

REALTR33 is beginning to sprout.

i was reading the mariuana growers guide by mel frank when i came upon the answer to this ?. he said it takes a light intensity of 0.3 lumens to interupt the auxin (flowering horomone BIO 101) build up and delay flowering. the full-moon, even on a clear night has a light intensity of 0.1 lumens.sure the moon is bright, but its a dull type of light, if tha makes sense. id be more worried about street lights or the lights on your back porch. however after your plants have begun to start forming fowers rapidly, ie long past the veg stage, short interuptions of light have no effect. since there internal program is already running at full force. i hope this helps.
