hey guys, next spring ill be starting my first real grow... tried last year but got eaten by bugs. im gonna be doing a sort of guerilla hybrid. i have a few sites inmind but i took some of the #1 today so i want you guys to tell me what you think. oh ya, this snake scared the **** outa me and makes me not wanna grow outdoors since theres supposedly ****loads of these suckers in the woods around here. id also appreciate any info you guys have about snake in the SE Texas gulf plains (little NE of houston). i rode right past this one on the trail and then noticed it when i looked back and it could have bitten me quite easily. heres the pics...

nice pics

im just messin with ya, cant help you with the pic problem. as for the snake as a general rule if a snake has a arrow-shaped head odds are its poisenous, of course there is always exceptions when dealing wih nature and any snake should be treated with respect. in my opinion snakes would be a plus what better deturent to keep thieves away than a bunch of snakes. hell it worked on you didnt it? id take them over ticks anyday. just watch your step.

Don't go traipsing around in the woods without a basic knowledge of the wildlife you may run into... especially where possibly poisonous snakes are concerned.
Every area has there own population- find out what you are dealing with.
Go right now and Google for snakes indigenous to your area.
We can't tell you what is there- you need to check that out yourself.
Got boots? A walking stick? Walking in the woods unprepared is asking for trouble.

And as you mentioned "i rode right past this one on the trail " I have to remind you to never plant near trails- you need to go deeper.
Walking kind of deeper

LOL, Cannabis should be planted at least a 1/4 to 1/2 a mile away from any trails. Trails = People. People = Getting caught or ripped off.

copperheads and water moccasins are the only two poisonous snakes i know about in that area. don't stand in a stream or pond and if you see a copper looking snake, don't go picking it up or anything.

thanks for your concern about the location... ive thought about it alot (the fact that its kinda like on a trail). this trail thing used to be used by some immigrants who liked to come to our "nice little community." the cockface neighbors drove em out like a year ago and every once and a while, some highschool kids go drink back there... at night. so im not too concerned. we have cement trails that go through the woods around (300 something miles) and those are what just about all the snobs around here use. there really isnt anyone who goes off (and the mini trail is harder than hell to find anyway) yeah i know its a alot. anyway this is getting long and i do feel like a dumba** for just walking back there. thanks guys.

oh guys, can someone explain to me how to post pics or guide me to a help post ( i searched earlier under a couple different things to no avail)

i see you finally got the picture thing figured out. the site looks just like any one of a thousand diffrent spots in the woods. looks like its got good sun? its kind of hard to tell how secure it is without having a general scope of the area. you should seriously take into consideration what 3-hounds and rockclimber brought up. the #1 thing to consider when growing outdoors is security. you never know what reasons somebody might wander off the beaten path. i love to just wander around the woods, some people play paintball, hike, walk dogs, run away from home, the list of reasons why someone can wonder into your grow site goes on and on. if its not properly hidden. its always a good idea to spread out your crop too, just in case one plot is discovered /eaten you got something to fall back on. i can not stress enough the the importance of scouting. you have plenty of time between now and spring to find great places to grow, you just have to look. look some more. then look again...

You have coral snakes and rattlesnakes, too.

I woulda thought snakes were good for the outdoor area, keep the bloody plant eating rodents down, I'd be tempted to leave food out for em
