Fert'ing plants (folial and otherwise)

hey, ive got 5 (hopefully) female plants that are developing thier 3rd and 4th set of serrated leaves, i believe they are inbetwen a week and 2 weeks old, at the most less than 2 weeks.
im getting a little anxious about fertilizing, i was wondering when the best time to start fertilizing them through watering, and when would be the best time to start foliar feeding?

Light nitrogen feedings can begin at 3 weeks, or whenever your cotyledons dry up and die.
Most indoor folks do not foliar feed due to the possibility of damaging their lighting.
Most outdoor folks don't either.
I do, but only because I am already standing there with a hose end sprayer doing the rest of my (non MJ) ornamental plantings. Usually a kelp tea during the worst of the heat is all I use, though.

how could foliar feeding mess up the lighting?
or are you referring to the ferts blocking or filtering the light thats being obsorbed by the leaves?
i was told that foliar feeding is allright to be done but after you foliar feed it, the next day, do a foliar feed of non fertalized water to clear off the left over ferts. would that be ok to do and not throw everything out of whack?

It's easy for some liquid to hit the hot bulbs when foliar feeding indoors. I also foliar feed kelp during vegging, but I turn the fans off and am very careful. They seem to really like it. I spray with plain water a day or two later. Kelp extract is recommended on the package for foliar feeding though. I wouldn't do it with anything else, especially not chemical ferts.
