Christopher,
first off, do you have a problem with excess salt build up in the soil your plants are in? Are your leaves showing signs of burning and curling? If the answer is no, then maybe flushing isnt what you need. When they recomend you flush your soil with five times as much water as you have soil it is usualy to fix a very bad over feeding problem. Have you feed them a lot? If not then make sure you have very loose, well draining soil and use a mild bloom booster at 1/2 strength when you water. Personal I would use the shultz, but MG is also good as long as both products say then can be used with edible fruits and veggies. When you flush your soil with that much water it can over water your plants severly, if you have soil that drains poorly and pots with holes that are too small, and or if you consistantly use that much water. Once or twice during your grow it cant hurt to give the pots a good flush, just make sure and let them dry all the way before you water next. And use 2 tbsp of pure 3% hydrogen peroxcide for every gallon of water that you give your plant and it will also help protect the roots from being flooded. Good luck man. Rember sometimes less is more with this plant.

Brindie, I agree with you completely about organic nutes making plants taste better, I use a combo of raw salts, chem nutes and organic products, only because i dont belive I have found my perfect system yet, and I like to mess with things also. I also know that once I met this old woman, she had grown 7 pounds of kind on one plant out in her garden that year. She was kind enough to kick me down some and it was some of the best tasting weed I had ever smoked, like fruit of the gods. So i ask her what she feeds with, she said, miricle grow rose food. So i guess what I am trying to say is that there are indeed miracles within the dirt that our beloved plant grows. Super natural happenings if you dare. Some things work great for some people, and strains, some things dont work so great. And thanks for taking so much time on my silly little questions, I really apriciate that. Have a great day.

While I'm not trying to stir up more organic vs chemical, how can someone say that using organic fertilizer is easier, like I've seen so many times. Take a pinch bat poop and mix it with 3 dashes of worm poop, stir in 1/3 bowl of corn flakes and add a smidgen of seaweed.... compared to x amount of blue stuff per gallon.
Which sounds easier?
Of course without severe firsthand evidence no one is going to switch what they've been doing for years, especially considering the fact that some people consider what the plant eats as almost a political statement, rather than what goes in the dirt. organic = good, MG = good, just don't screw it up and it'll be fine.
