![]() | Look at the internodal distance and the amount of leaves... The more leaves you have, the more buds you harvest. Who wants 10 ft monsters when you can get the same yield (well, nearly) on plants only 6 ft tall ? Unless you're taking part to a pic contest, you usually want your plants to blend with the surrounding vegetation. 10 ft plants are kinda hard to camo... Well, that's my own opinion, anyway. I'm interested in yield, not height of plants.

![]() | Oh well, one more just for the pleasure. Note that this one is a real Caribbean Sativa with Colombian origins. Should have grown very lanky and willowy, just like Thai. But not with this high K thingie... Well, a lot less than it would have if I had used lots of Nitrogen.

![]() | that was more entertaining than any movie ive seen in the past month! and ive seen a LOT of movies. those are some healthy looking sativas you have there! i could switch over to this organic with the high K but i dont think it will take too well since ive been using chems all this time 3-1-4 for veg eh? well ill just have to take your word for it. what other food do you use for different times during the growth cycle? at what point do you cut the N? late veg? what do you use for flowering? ive been very interested in the whole mysterious K thing since no one seems to have quite as much knowledge and as much faith in it as you do. i think you have something here though. take a look on a page or two back on this forum and youll see how much ive dwelled on the subject. i love to experiment too, but havent gotten around to doing much with mj as this is only my second year and i am too parinoid to spend the time to grow more plants, and spend more time with them. ill look for a good place this fall that i can not worry about. its hard work aint it? ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | Surely you remember TRUU- Brindie has been preaching "add more K" since I can remember. Kelp rules. BTW- look into bonsai nutes. I have some 0-10-10 that I'm about ready to try out on some Neville's Haze that's just starting to flower...... they are sucking nutes like there's no tomorrow, and growing even faster. If more K will slow the stretch I'm all for it. For that alone, I thank you Chaman. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | I am one of the "mix a great soil" tribe. In my container plants I make a mix that carries my plants well into flowering before I need to do any supplemental P/K feeding, then I use seabird guano and kelp. I may make a tea of something I am using in the rest of my garden from time to time, but not on any real schedule. Might be blood meal tea, alfalfa tea, kelp foliar feed, etc. For stuff in the ground I give all of the above, plus supplemental fish emulsion, kelp, seabird guano, etc. as the plants ask for. My sativas in the ground are heavy feeders, and it is all I can do to keep them fed. I will add more kelp from now on as per this thread, you betcha! Did it today already, as a matter of fact. Yikes- You edited out the question I am answering!! Oh well.....

![]() | Looks like you and me have come to the same conclusions, 3hounds. Yes, Kelp rocks. Especially with bat guano to boost it. Try Earth Juice if you can't find the Terra Vega and Terra Flores products (Canna), TRRU. I'll post more details about a "Complete K grow" if you want. Most commercial pre-fertilized potting soils also contain much more K than N anyway. Don't think this is a coincidence... ![]()
