Jenna Tailya is beginning to sprout.

Should I leaf feed my plants? 12 days old. 6-7" tall and 6-8"wide. 800HPS in the mid 80's temp 40%RH. Seed leaves and first 2 leaves on some starting to yellow a bit. I water by meter and Ph is perfect. Im using 1/4--1/2 strength ferts. Should I up the ferts a bit beings Im using 85watts PSF(about 9200 lumens per foot)Growing awesome but a bit concerned about the yellowing bottom leaves. Ive been told exact opposites. Leaves should NEVER yellow, even the old leaves and first sets. And also the first leaves ALWAYS yellow, get brittle and fall off. Remember Im pushing 100W's PSF. I kinda dont tnink Im realy tryin to grow those bottom leaves am I. Dont the buds come at the top? Help with the yellowing or are they OK. Medium is 75/25 hyponx/vermic and I run int/exh constant to refresh air and keep temp down. Thank you Jenna

what kind of ferts are you using?

if you're using chemicals, don't bother with the foliar feed idea as the plant can't absorb nutes in that form through its leaves.

Personally, I never suggest foliar feeding. Plants are designed to absorb nutes through their feeder roots, makes sense to feed them where they're built to absorb it.

Give em a shot of N

1/4 strength BM tea would do the trick. Or some Fish E, lots of good natural stuff high in N you can feed them ... What do you have available to you?
Generally I only advise using the FF method as a way to treat any defs you think the plant may have.

Talking Thanks Jenna,

For bringing up the old issue.

Yellowing of leaves does not automatically mean your plants need more N, or more of anything.

Overwatering is the number one cause of problems in an indoor environment.

Glad to hear they are improving.

Smiles,
BD
