the information i am looking for is this... folar feeding is said to increase nute intake if you have a soil based garden, or as an aid to a hydro garden that is overcoming short term health issues... i have read that some gardens have experienced more vigor and growth over and above what is to be expected from a healthy hydro set up... but the details have been murky at best... has someone done a side by side comparison yet...? three plants with folar...? three plants without...? all under the same light...? from the same res...?......... thanx to all and be well...... j

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Foliar feeding rocks, I love this foliar feed called Messenger, active ingredient is Harpin protien... It kinda stresses the plants into growing better It certianly can increase growth if used in moderation. However, foliar feeding past 2 weeks into flower is asking for mold problems And spraying fertilizers on buds I'm gonna smoke doesn't suit my fancy.

![]() | i understand and agree about spraying buds for the mold and taste factor... what i am getting at is that i am going against the herd in that i am only growing a few plants but to VERY large proportions [finishing at 6+ feet]... that gives me the potential problem of a longer lead time from clone to veg [4 foot min of veg]... and so i am [1] looking for ways to get to that 4 foot size as fast as i can... AND [2] since i am taking that extra time to bring my plants to size i want to do as much as i can to get my stems as beefy and thick as possible to max out my harvest... and so i am going to great pains to give my grow everything it needs to go the extra mile... my hydro system rocks..., plants get 1000w, co2, the works... so if folar can give me even thicker stems in that 4 month veg cycle i want to be all over that... but i have heard that there is a risk of burn and so i don't want to mess with it unless it REALLY WILL make a difference... the funny thing is that i stayed away from hydro for years because of the potential burn factor but i keep a close eye on things and the results are like night and day... i have plants that are from the clone mother, the same age...6 in hydro and 2 left in soil pots to see the difference in performance between them... well after a month i am going to take the last 2 plants out of the soil and put them in hydro because there is no compairison, and i feel like they are being waisted... so tell me more about your experiences with folar feeding please...... thanks...... j

But yeah, hydro is where its at for the monsters. Soil is a joke if you want growth speed. Check out messenger. You'll love it Messenger® - Homeowner Package Only use it during veg, but it will make your plants EXPLODE!!! I guarentee it. Another great foliar product to look into would be Nitrozyme. Expensive stuff. But Oh WOW it does great on the foliar feeding!!! Also look into a product called Penetrator by Dutch master, it enhances the foliar feeding capabilities of any foliar product.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It seems to me that my plants can take up a specific amount of ferterlizers/nutrients. I can't really add in foliar feeding as a supplement in order to get the plant to take up more nutrients.I'd say a careful study of your plants needs... all of them. And a thorough knowledge or how to deliever the ideal combination together with control over the growing environment would give you your largest yield. As my good friend Burner would tell you, I could join a number of folks who think that most additives are all hype. ![]() Hey Buzz - thanks for the links.. ![]() | so outdoors... ~It seems to me that my plants can take up a specific amount of ferterlizers/nutrients. I can't really add in foliar feeding as a supplement in order to get the plant to take up more nutrients.~ this is what i was getting at... i am guessing that if ultimate growth were 100%... then soil growth would come in at 10+ % and a good hydro system with lights and co2 would come in at 90% or so... if a folar feed would push that a bit farther then i would want to try that but i also want to keep it all as simple as possible... so are you saying that you think folar feeding is not worth the time or do you simple like to keep it simple and just don't mess with folar...??? PS afterburn... i am growing trainwreck... how high do you think i need to let it get before pushing them into flower.....? thank you to both of you for your help..... j
