hey FREAKSHOW, you really seem to have a handle on this so I'm directing this thread towards you. (anyone else can feel free to jump on in too). I've read about 20 threads on soil ph in the last 2 hours and there is some conflicting information here so I want to run this scenario by you for your opinion on what I should do next. Thank you in advance by the way.. and I appreciate all the helpfull suggestions you've thrown my way. You're a good friend and I don't even know ya. OK.. What I've got here are some plants that were in 1 gallon containers. The think I screwed up the soil by adding addites before I planted. It was Kellogs Organic Outdoor Potting soil that came with bat guano and worm casting and such already in it.... I made the mistake of mixing in more before planting. The plants were not growing fast and started showing signs of mg def. I kept waiting for the soil to dry out so I could flush but it did't want to dry out, so I repotted them into 5 gallon buckets with FoX Farms Ocean Forest soil... I did NOT wash the original soil from the roots, I just placed them into the new soil.. They've been there a little over a week. Last night I decided to check the ph of my run off. The ph was about 6,so I decided to flush them. I used about 60 gallons of R/O water to flush 12 5 gallon pots, so that's 5 gallons of water per pot. I would have done more but I had to do this over a tub and then pump the flush water out of the house... pain in the ass. So I added about 100ppms of Fish Emulsion, and ph'd the water up to 7.1 to the flushing water, hoping to raise their ph. I tested the run off of each plant after I ran about 5 gallons through it. the results were as follows: Plant #1- 6.4 2-6.2 3-6.8 4-6.6 5-6.8 6-6.3 7-6.6 8-6.3 9-6.6 10-6.5 11-6.4 12-6.6 I guess my question is, what should I do with the plants that are in the 6.2- 6.4 range? Should i keep phing the solution high, or should I mix in some lime or something into the soil? Here's a photo. They are about 5 days into 12/12. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For Pete's Sake DO NOT ADD LIME TO YOUR SOIL! that being said, High! How are ya man? Your plants actually look pretty damn good. A bit heavy on the N but they aren't burning. I don't see hardly any burn at all - maybe a touch on one plant. I'd say keep doing what you're doing man. Adjust the ph accordingly - it's obviously working. peace
