Anyone familier with Canna Terra nutes?

I'm just a little curious about the recommended PH. Canna say 5.2 to 6.2 for veg and flower nutes... seems a little low to me for soil. I PH to around 6.3 to be safe but wondered if anyone has any opinions.
Also, just added a few mls of canna boost to my water and didn't seem to raise the EC at all! Weird huh?

5.2 is too low. I try to maintain soil from 6.3 to 6.7. I adjust additives to 6.5. as long as you keep your soil in that range you'll be fine. aim for 6.5 and I don't worry if it strays a bit more or less.

Cheers Shrubz. I too normally go for 6.5, just wondered why they put such low figures on their bottles.

I have friends that have used them and were very happy with them. I think you'll be fine.
EC, I believe means Electrical Conductivity. It's a measurement on my Hanna Meter. I think you have to use the 1400 calibration solution and you set the ec to 1.4 on that. I've been using it lately in my hydro grow and it's .9 for small plants and up to about 1.6 in when they're peaking during flowering.
Peace

DO NOT BIN THEM! lol... had great results using them mate, just don't use their recommended PH or EC. EC is an equivelant to ppm but as crazytrain mentioned, it's based on the conductivity of the solution not the ppm (parts per million) of nutrients in the solution. Go with 6.5 for PH or around that (I think a touch higher is better as it's easier to lower the PH of soil than increase it) and the following link should help you out with EC or ppm of your mix:

International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - Fertilizing Wisely

Good luck dude

Definitely won't BIN them then. Dam things cost me nearly £80 so i wasn't really gonna BIN them just wanted to know if people got good results or not but since your saying It's all good to go then i'm on the Ball! Added some cannazyme and some Rhizotonic to my ladies.. i think i can see a few pistols but not getting my hopes high til they're glooming.

Thanks for the advice! I feel asured that it can only do good. I used my PH test indicator (liquid form that you mix in a tube and shake and check with the colour chart) though probably get a digital PH tester soon , PH was reading bang on the light green of 6.5 though that was after using PH down solution used 4 tiny drops to 5 litres of water as before that it was around 7.5(normal tap water).

I am interested though to know why PH is important and if there was no ph level at all what would the effect be? and too much PH effects? don't want to test with my first grow so hoping someone may know from the top of their head!

Thanks in advance.

p.s. There is an online calculator for Canna terra products Your Personal - Canna Grow Guide - Feed Schedule - Feeding Chart for anyone using this product. it works out exactly how much and for which type of both soil and hydro growing.

That should give you the right idea.
Too high and you get less of certain nutes and too low the same.
You can also get nutes locked out from too much of other nutes e.g. Too much calcium in hard tap water can lock out magnesium.

Just noticed you posted the link to the canna calculator... like I said, don't use their recommended or at least be careful. Less is usually (but not always) more when it comes to nutes and be sure to read that link I posted.

Yes thanks i have read the post and the different experiment carried out. and it sound about right and how much doasge the web calculator says. as the web calculator gives me a different figure to the one on the bottle. (which is less then the recommended) only time will tell as my plant is looking very healthy so i will see my self what kind of reaction they have (mother plant is excluded) Well keep an eye on my journal if you wanna see the final product til then bless
