i hear that using chemical fertalizers can make your bud taste like fertalizer, is this true, and if so, would discontinuing the nutes a few weeks before harvest help? i use peters all purpose 15-30-15 and im about 2 weeks into flower.

That is pretty standard practice, often called "final flush".

Chlorophyll doesn't taste very good, getting the chlorophyll to break down before harvest, and during the drying and curing process produces better tasting smoke. What i do is reduce N about halfway through flowering, and eliminate it entirely during the 2nd week prior to harvest, keeping the EC the same by increasing the amount of P and K. I start the last week prior to harvest at 1/2 EC and reduce it down to nothing during the week.

That's pretty high in nitrogen for late flowering, and pretty low in potassium.
