Finally getting my room set up after a long hiatus.....The flower room is 6 X 8, with 7 areoponic tubes, and the grow/nursery is under the stairs. One thing I have learned, or gotten over, over the years is growing massive plants. Now I am into growing small, 12" to 18" buds. Not only is this required by my room, but like you said it eliminates the angel hair bottom buds. I started experimenting with bush master at the rate of 2 ml/gal no nut for 3 days, on some sativa already flowering for 3 wks. It stopped them in their tracks Then I started them back on full nut which = moderate burn. Next wave was at 1ml/gal for 3 days with min nut then to full nut = we will see this week.

I like your idea about starting bush in grow Dr. D. I am going to try it. I will also reduce my nut load during and after to see what's up with that. I am sure it will work.

Now that it has been a while since your last round, how r they looking?

tukstr Good to hear you're gettin back at em.

From my recent rounds I have developed these opinions.

I don't like to give BM to a young plant.

At least a week of vigorous growth after roots have formed before first low dose feeding.

The more mature the plant the less stress BM seems to have on the plant.

It's best to apply during the first two weeks of the "stretch" which is about the first 2.5 weeks of flowering.

I would encourage vegging as long as you can and using BM to "stop" them where they're at if you are without adequate vertical space. The more plant mass produced in the veg = the more plant mass in your sac so you want to create the best food factory you can within your plant.

I feel that you can apply with nutes only you have to cut down a LOT on the BM also.

I have added 1ml per 2 gals and ran it in the older moms for 12 days, ebbnflo buckets.

Every system will change how BM gets absorbed so you really have to start low and feel it out.

Once you learn how it affects the plant, you can choose the right time to add BM.

One thing I'm testing now is to let the plant bush up a little for the first 3 - 5 days flowering. Apply a medium dose of BM and let the rest of the stretch continue afterward. This is currently resulting in a nice even lower canopy formed. The few days gave the plant time to bush up and fill gaps from trimming. The stretch doesn't necessarily continue after day 6 but it rather finishes up. My current grow has stretched about 5in after the application which is perfect cause it still gives you a 5 -8in cola yet all of the tops are of similar height therefore grow more evenly, almost like a sog of the top of just one plant. Hopefully with this I can build a strong thriving canopy of leaves with out having to cut a hole in the roof.

The canopy here takes up about 1 vertical foot of space and covers about 12 square feet of space. After the BM application you can see the shoots reaching about 5in above the canopy, keeping everything even yet still full of multiple top cola potential. This is day 18 of flower, the stretch is almost over.

Good Luck and Happy Herbin

I think that pot is 10 gallons, but I don't know. The plant is probably 2 ft tall, and it's about 3 ft wide. It probably has 25 or 30 colas on it. I should get some side lighting on it
This is the first time I've tried to grow some big lst's soil plants and Bushmastered them.. Usually I just let them stretch, but something told me that these are going to stretch to the moon if I let them.

I second that, there's nothing worse than a 8 ft plant in a 6 ft cab

My ladies have stopped stretching, it's day 22 in the pic, I have lots of 6-8in colas topping the canopy. In my case I could have let them go all the way with out BM I believe. I've got quite a bit of space left to the ceiling.

But if I did have restrictions, feeding the BM at a med to low dose on day 6 stopped them yet still allowed for a small amount of stretching. I probably gained 10-12in total over the entire stretch and with very large mature plants that"s not much at all seeing as how I had some 10in plants reach 33in when I let them go.

Yes sir, they get the Bush! Ebb n Flo Buckets cycling every 20 min for 3 hours a solution of just Bush and h2o @ 1/2 teaspoon per gal. Switched back with ppms at 450. Upped the ppms back to normal after 3 or 4 days. I got a lil bit of eagle claw on a few leaves but that was it.

Nice tops!

Next to Bushmaster will be the bonsai moms, they'll be ready in about 2 weeks.

Nice looking tops Dr D.....I Bushed my sativas about 4 weeks ago and they are looking nice. One thing I ran into though was a few tops did a growth spurt this last week. I am actually considering giving them 1 mil/g of the bush if they keep it up.

Otherwise, since it has just started freezing outside this past week, I noticed a spot of spider mites. I will attack that with all vengeance.

I will wait until the end of week one to bush my indica's.
