![]() ![]() | ah the ATAMI "HydroMixx HP" you wouldnt be talking about that stuff would you? yes you are, jus f'n' wit ya. atami hydromixx hp is pro-mix hp made by premier horticulture and packaged for atami. it IS pro-mix HP, just in atami packaging. ive been using it since it came to my local hydro store like 2 years ago. it is also very much the same or actually the same as sunshine #4 too. they are like this a hgih porosity peat based inert medium, they have an initial nutrient charge equal to that of one full strength hydroponic nutrient feeding (very miniscule and could easily be flushed away during planting but it helps out plants and it isnt to so strong that it will burn seedlings or anything like time released fertilized soils do) and are made up of 70% canadian sphagnum peat moss, 30% horticultural grade perlite, a wetting agent and dolomite lime for ph adjustment, and the initial nute charge i spoke about above. any way yeah it is only pro mix hp in a different wrapper,it is made by premier horticulture the same guys who make pro mix. yeah 6.8 is on the high end and sometime the pro mix and other peat based mixes like sunshine #4 and hydro mix start out a little high but will even out as long as you make you feed water betwween 6.2 and 6.5, 6.3 being ideal. i usually go 4 parts of hydromixx hp to 1 part of perlite for better drainage, some folks say they add more dolomite lime to it but i have tried that in the past at the rate of 2 table spooons per gallon of mix, 1 table spoon per gallon of mix and half table spoon per gallon of mix and at every rate it always threw my ph too high and fucked up the grow a bit, and when i use it right out the bag with 20% extra perlite it works just fine. i germinate seeds in it transplant and root clones in it. i know your saying "it says right on the bag that this mix is not suitable for germinating seedlings" but it is only saying that cuz it may be to wet for em not becaseu of the nutrient charge. trust me on the hydro mixx i had a shit load of questions about it and had an e-mail correspondance with one of the guys at atami going on for 3 weeks, and it entailed about 30 emails or so before i used it to make sue it was exactly por mix hp. and i could treat it just like it cuz it was it. i usually go one full strength hydro feed per week and plain water in between which is usually every other day or so so feed water water feed water water, thats how you want to do it and ph the feed at 6.3. i use reverse osmosis water also i thought i should mention that. but i ad cal mag or sensi cal to it to bring it up to 120 ppm or .2 ec before i use the RO water for nutrient mixing.

![]() ![]() | 6.0 is the ph you want in the root zone, to achieve this you ph you nutes going in to the medium at 6.0-6.3, i chose to stay on the 6.3 side of things cuz it treats the micro herd better. it is not uncommon for you to see drifts in the mediums ph at times it could be at 6.8 (which has always happen when you first plant into a fresh pot of promix but it will even out for you after a couple waterings or a fluching at time of planting in it) but back to the drift, the ph drifting from 6.0-6.5 or 6.6 or so, is good for the plants becaseu different nutes become available at different ph levels, as long as they are within the parameters of the proper ph for marijuana

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i always used 6.3-6.5 for my water. the only thing i do to my promix is add a tablespoon of lime, and a few of guano, for the right growth stage. i use pro mix bx. sometimes i add perlite, sometimes not. havent really noticed a difference besides drying out faster. i use it for seeds, clones, moms, veg growth, flowering growth. its by far the most for less decent "soil" ive found. i filled up 10, 5 gallon buckets, and 10 1 gallon buckets for 25 dollars. thats pretty decent compared to most. it can even be reused. i mean, it it soiless right?

id trow it on a tarp, let it dry. add what ever you add, take out as many roots as possible, and first watering, act as if your flushing, by giving it more water. to wash out salts, and resoak the soil completly
