FloraNova ppm question

i am using FloraNova bloom. on the back of the bottle it tells how many ppm there is in a teaspoon (500 ppm). when i test the water with my TDS tester it reads quite a bit more than the bottle says it should. I was wondering if they are measuring the ppm of a specific element like phosphous or if i should just go with what my meter says and discount what the bottle says. i am starting with 0 ppm distilled water. thx

back of the bottle is ALWAYS! wrong lol.

first what is the ppm of the water before adding anything? the nute ppm is only the differential just in case you didnt know i figured id mention it.

also.. shake the hell out of flora nova, as it states on the side of the bottle.

lastly you must know the conversion factor for the ppm on the side of the bottle. if your pen is .07 and they use .05 or vice versa this could be your problem. try verifying which conversion factor GH uses, or check your ppm in EC instead of ppm.

The ppm meter i have is accurate and i calibrate it all the time, so i know mine is right. I am using 0 ppm distilled water. Seems kinda stupid to me for them to put incorrect readings on there bottle. what is the motive behind that? to get you to use more to try to sell more? stupid to me, and confusing

Bottle suggestions just about always work great for me, if they didn't they would have so many complaints from people they would change the bottles to numbers that work. They do work for me, and imagine many others, so they aren't changing the bottles. Some strains are light eaters though I've found, but only one in my days.

thisbudzforyou---I'm in suppense here wondering what your ppm meter was reading after the nutes if not the 500ppm the bottle suggested. What is "quite a bit" more?? 100ppms more, 500ppms more?? What kind of meter too, some of them are crap and that could be the problem, did you set your ppm meter, and if so to what ppms???? How old are the plants too??

Happy Growing

I'd like to know what it read also. I use FNB as a base @ around 800 - 1100 ppms then add my extras. For me 1 full regular round shot glass into 4 gals brings me to around 1250 with 180 ppm tap.

my bottle directions never give me the correct readings either... i use a tri-meter to get the ppm correct. it bothers me but i have never followed up to see what is the answer.
