Thanks, mistaman. That's a huge help. I'd not seen it before.

Smile So ppm, and EC arent relevant?
permalink

again i must say I'm a noob.
but i used this chart as well with nutes to gallon ratio almost exactly and my ppm's/EC were extremely high for veg. so i watered down my res by pumping half the solution into my second res and filling the remainder with fresh water. now the nuet's ppm's and EC seem to be climbing back up again. my understanding of the ppm's is that the plants take them, as in eat them so shouldn't they be going down?

OR, should i just be balancing my PH and following the guide, not worrying too much about the ppm/EC levels, as long as I'm certain that i have the water/neut ratio correct...

not trying to get this thread off topic either.
i was recommended to use Floronectar. has everything Sweet has and more... after simply looking at the label and comparing prices Floronectar was the sure winner. =)

I use molasses in soil. Molasses has not only carbs, but many essential minerals and nutrients, much more so than some of the carb additives on the market. I have used molasses in hydro and if you don't add very much, it does work in a DWC hydro setup, BUT you have to change out your reservoir more often. The sugars invite lots of bad bacteria.

just my $.02

haha yes make sure to not to actually use as much as they tell you. just follow the ratios and dilude to your desired ppm (i rarely go over 1000). This pretty much goes for any feeding schedule youll find at a typical hydrostore. They'll put you right at the burning point.
Definetely going to try the floranectar. Have been wondering about it for too long.

Sorry to jump in but what portions of molasses do people like to use in soil and for what period of flowering?

I was always a bit confused on the final word about whether it should be used for the duration of flower or during the flush. I used it during the beginning of a flush on a drip hydro setup. It worked nicely but what a GD mess to clean up after

I've been using molasses with an eb'n'flow (pumps) system for over a year.... I've had NO problems with the pumps.

Hey Crazytrain...Is there a particular type of molasses that you use? Also, what does it do to the res? I have a 25 gallono recirculating DWC and am afraid of having a frothy mess. In addition, my pump is going full time (but it sounds like that doesn't make a difference).

I use this. It works very well. I think 1 tablespoon per gallon of water is too much though. I use 1/2 a teaspoon per gallon once during veg and once during flower.

edit: in soil
