Any thoughts? Hip? Hype? -gasp - Snake oil?

I know it is similar to the much cheaper molasses. I would be using it in a DWC circulating reservoir.

I confess I asked this in another thread on Hydroponics but I may be going "shopping" tomorrow or Sunday and I'm trying to figure out whether this is worthwhile. (Sorry if this is an infraction. I'll be better. Promise!) Hint...I'm leaning toward it...but remain open minded. Thanks

I bought the Sweet Citrus and I am also using Pro Grow, Bloom, Hydroguard, and LK. I bought the sweet because i thought it was one of the alternatives to molasses. I would rather use molasses but I have read it isn't a good idea for systems with pumps but who knows

I'd be interested in knowing also. I plan on using it though, so at least here in another month or two ill be able to give you first hand research on it.

Yeah...for some reason, using molasses with pumps, etc. just seems counter intuitive, so the Sweet seems attractive.

Ive never not used it so hard to say. The way i see it if youre using a botanicare schedule its nessisary just to balance your feeding schedule. It seems to be just a sugary additive to stimulate trichome production.

i never use it, but a buddy does and he swears by it. i generally listen to him because hes a pro grower as well {not of herb}

i get the impression its basically a substitute for black strap that wont make your rez a foamy frothy mess. hey if you can afford it, i say go for it! its not all that expensive

Thanks mistaman and kawgomoo...

Yep...I'm totally down with increased trichrome production. Is it conventional wisdom that molasses -or some carbohydrate thang - does add that certain something special to a grow?

I always thought molasses/carbohydrates where more for aiding the plant in taking up nutrients, as well as providing a catalyst for faster, abundant growth. I just no my buds got much larger the times I used molasses...I guess I never really thought about the trichs :shrugs:

anyone tried the floranectar? contains mollasses, sugarcane and malt syrup along with a variety of other things. looks pretty sweet to me but never tried it.

There seems to be a lot of sugary additives you can implement. I use sweet because im too lazy to balance my own npk. id rather let some people in a lab figure it out for a living and follow their feeding schedules.

I am a huge sucker for purple maxx too. I think thats what has been giving me superb trichome development.

Ive seen people crush up raw sugar packs and put them in their nute mixes. It's all about how much $$ u wanna spend and which products you decide to use.

good luck im sure youll have a frosty crop no matter what you pick

mistamen, I'm using PBPro. Do you use less of the basic nutes when you put in the Sweet. In other words, how does it affect ppm? pH? Thanks!

Like I said, if im using pbp ill use sweet and all the bottles they recommend. Some people like to mix and match the bottles they like but again, im too lazy to balance my own npk.
