I'm constantly trying to control spider mites and wanted to see if anyone had a good foliar spray mix that used seaweed and neem oil. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone and combine both of them. I also was curious if anyone had heard if it's okay to mix the two together to get the intended results. I have a bottle of Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed that I'd like to use with some neem oil for the job.

![]() | Have you considered mixing diatomaceous earth in with your foliar spray as an organic bug killer? I have a similar problem and recently bought it off of ebay for 10 bucks. Apparently it also aids the plants as well.

![]() | I would agree that you probably wouldn't want to mix the neem with your foliar spraying of a seaweed-based plant food (or any other, for that matter). Oil and water don't mix well and even if you got it to work you'd be effectively diluting the effectiveness of both products. Instead, I would recommend applying them as evenly spaced as you can according to their directions. Like if each says to apply once a day, do one, then wait 12 hours, do the other, 12 more hours, then back to the first and so on. That way you give each one as much time to work as possible without sacrificing the other. That should maximize the effectiveness of both the neem and your seaweed plant food. BTW, I've seen better results with Advanced Nutrients seaweed plant foods so you might try them. Oh, and I don't think water hurts DE - it just doesn't work well while wet. Once it dries out it should be just fine.
