I'm about 6 weeks into veg.

Plants are about 20 in tall.

I have been using the lucas formula (GH nutes 5 ml micro 10 ml bloom) in all perlite wanna be hempys, and it has treated me well.

However I was looking around at a nute calculator here and I think I have come to the conclusion that this mix might be too weak?

My plants are starting to curl under at all the growing nodes. I beleive this to be due too to many factors. Just taking a bunch of clones, recently training, just putting under a 600 watt hps. Too many variables all at once

I would like to verify that the nutes are correct though.

Your vegging with that formula? 5ml micro and 10 ml bloom? If so, that isn't correct, or at least thats not what I would use.

The General Hydroponics nutrients when mixed with distilled water with a starting value of 0 PPM or 0 EC uS/cm prior to adding Pro-Tekt and Epsom Salt should have a reading of about 580 PPM @0.7 conversion or 828 EC uS/cm. Remember to subtract the starting EC or PPM value of your water from your reading to test your obtain approximate estimate of nutrient strength.

I don't have GH grow. That is not in the lucas formula. It is unnecessary.

Calculated EC/TDS levels:

EC microsiemen:
0-4-8: 946 µS
0-5-10: 1184 µS
0-8-16: 1894 µS

TDS @ 0.5 conversion:
0-4-8 = 473 ppm
0-5-10 = 592 ppm
0-8-16 = 947 ppm

TDS @ 0.7 conversion:
0-4-8 = 663 ppm
0-5-10 = 829 ppm
0-8-16 = 1326 ppm


Everything was going perfect until now.... Very odd...

I will be making a post in the nursery now though...

are you talking about the claw? typically ph related. or over fert... either one can be caused by the "leftovers" in the bottom of the bucket

keep in mind with hempy when they use more water than nutes {always} the solution left in the bttom of the bucket gets very out of balance. high ec low ph.

i think i am going tostart watering my hempies every other day with clear water to try and prevent some of this swing.

not saying that those aren't the Lucus numbers, but thats still not what I would use for vegging. Maybe others would, but not using "grow" for vegging doesn't seem like the best formula. Who knows, just going off my experience.

Ceiling cat also waters the girls ever 2 days once the stretch commences.

Figured thusly: if a one gallon hempy goes through a quart of water every
2 days without a lot of overflow then the feeding is correct; it's figured
that with a hole 2" up and it seems to "want" that much liquid every 2 days
is a good thing, as this even happens with vermiculite for an actively
growing plant... other benefits are a (more) regularly oxygenated resevoir.
