![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have been use'n Ph down/up liquid from Mad Farmer. I am wondering if the powder Ph down/up does a better job bring'n the Ph in line. With mad farmer I have noticed way less is needed to bring down the Ph, while it takes way more Ph up to raise it. ...so....do you like liquid or powder control better for ph balancing? \ooo/ Last edited by Allglad; 06-15-2009 at 05:22 PM..

I cant believe they charge so much more for the liquid ph's...well I believe. They are scalp'n people. Well unless someone can give a good reason why not to powder I am game for the powder version. I may switch to using common ingredients to control Ph when my skills are more tuned & when construction is nearly done (is there ever such a thing as totally finishing construction on a great grow room though)? Gotta save my last ...ya know its a rough economy and all!!![]() Last edited by Allglad; 06-15-2009 at 06:46 PM..

![]() ![]() | If you're doing a soil grow, apple cider vinegar is an excellent pH down that's natural and cheap. Not sure about an natural solution to bring up the pH. Liquid pH controls are easier to work with for apparent reasons. Powders can get to be messy. Liquids are easier to mix into liquids. In my experience, I would opt for a liquid pH adjuster. If you're doing soil, search for some cheap inexpensive ways to control for pH -like the vinegar, I just mentioned. If you're doing hydro, then liquid is the only way you should go, unless someone thinks differently on this one.

my powdered ph up dissolves in about 1 second. i dont even need to stir it really. i can adjust my ph from 5.4 to 6.1 in about 1 minute. i dont think the liquid version would last as long. but i could be wrong. only reason i got powdered was because the place i ordered from wont ship the liquid versions.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I appreciate you chime'n in M3 & IS, I really dont have much need for PH down at this time. I have RO water and more than enough Mad Farmer PH down to last a long time. I agree that there is a cheap equivalent similar to vinegar that will take my ph up, (I have read about it before, but just dont have the time to experiment with something that does not have the support like the powder that I bought) but I just dont have the time. I agree IS..as long as I keep my PH up dry I think it will continue to devolve like yours does. I already have bought and used PH up from GH. NO prob at all I can almost see it devolve as I add it. I bet if exposed to humidity it would be much harder to devolve though. \ooo/
