I have high PH water that's 7.8 - 8.0

I use regular ole cheap white Vineger. A tablespoon in a gallon of water brings it down to 6.8 I let that sit for an hour or 2 then check again and find it to be around 7 so I add a 1/4 - 1/2 more tablespoon and gets right around 6.5 and then I mix in my nutes.

Careful with other people's suggestions on what to use. I figure some people just like to type big words, name the highest priced stuff and/or tell you something works when in fact they never tried it themselves

My Family and I are REALLY into herpetology and the challenges of keeping the more exotic breeds(we're quite good at it) is presented in a way that is comparable to mainstream MJ horticulture...well any hobby that involves playing god to another organism for that matter. Anyhow,
alot of what you pay for is the brand name. I say, you get what you pay for but you had better know what you are getting. For example, in the retail pet trade you can buy a 9"X3"X1"(give or take) for like 9 bucks. If you take that same 9 bucks to the nursery you can get a 3 pack of those bricks. Same shit, sometimes by the same company, packaged differently can save you big time.

God damn it Im half drunk and high as hell... pardon my nonsense

when you use sulfur at all period it becomes sulfuric acid
Huh??

Virgin Sulphuric acid, commonly used as battery electrolyte is the most used pH down adjuster in commercial horticulture. Because it is cheap, effective, easily acquired and does not skew the nutrient solution as badly as phosphoric acid does.

pool and spa pH adjusters usually are sodium based and can add much sodium to the solution.. Which is why everyone warns against its use. However sodium can take the place of some of the potassium plants need without any harm and sometimes it improves yield.

Before you use anything for a pH adjuster you should calculate the amount of fertilizer salt it will add to the solution and adjust your fertilizer regime accordingly.

Hmmm.... I belive we have a mis-communication here. I'm not sure why you are quoting me. From what I can tell we are in agreement. What I was getting at was that sulfur is easily turned into sulfuric acid which is responsible for the lowering of soil PH when sulfur based amendments are added to the soil. I understand that it is a slow acting amendment. I figure that if a (hopefully) lead free sulfuric acid, no matter the source, was introduced to the medium then it would cause PH to drop significantly and immediately.

Earth Juice makes very good organic "Natural Up" and "Natural Down" powders that I've been using for several months. A tiny bit goes a long way.

Peace!
