i was actually looking with someone with experience who had been using something of the sort...
some of the products claim to keep root rot and pyth under control..

I was wondering if it kept it from starting, or would make it stop once it had already taken hold??

guess ill pick something up and get back to yall...

i dont think mycor is going to do anything for root rot...you would need more of a benefecial bacteria or enzyme product for that i would imagine.

im chemical hydro right now, so the mycor is out. but id like to give some a shot in soil and maybe in my littler cloner...

im just worried about the granules not dissolving and packing my chiller full of shit.

Yeah Bud,
Ask your hydro shop about the one that General Hydroponics has just, or is about to release.I was given a sample of it (it's liquid) and I used it on some rooted cuttings and it made the roots go wild. This stuff is for real. Healthy roots when you start is your first step against root disease.
Many people around here swear by Hygrozyme to help control pith.

I've been using mycorrhizae religiously regardless of if im doing hydro or soil since my second grow. When i did a grow using DWC i drilled small holes into plastic containers and put them in the bottom filled with mycorrhizae and them seemed to do the trick. I have once or twice forgotten to add some on transplants and after a short time i can see slower than usual growth, with rootballs much smaller at the next transplant. I'd say use it, but be sure to use dechlorinated water.

I 'had' been using it, I don't like the granules of it at all personally. I was having some issues (not major major) with roots not wanting to make their way past the granules when I put the little rockwool cube with rooted clone into a bigger, yet still smallish, block of rockwool. I quit using it all together and clones are doing better just using H2o2 treated RO water and the Clonex cloning gel. Today just bought some of that aquashield to do the work the mycorrizea was supposed to do.

My bottle of mycor says it has all kinds of enzymes in it.

i had thought about taking that sure to grow stuff, sprinkling mycor on there and then stuffing the net pots with it....might work

ill go ask the hydro store about that GH liquid though, sounds right up my alley. cept for the fact that im cheap and my local hydro store's prices are nothing short of highway robbery.

i've experimented with mycorrhizae in my reservoir before when using organics but have since steered away from it and switched to chemical nutrients...

I recall finding it difficult to stabilize the pH... and generally not worth the hassle... I think they need surface area to colonize on, hydroton is good, so if your method uses a lot of hydroton then that might work... Otherwise you'd be best off using a soiless coco fiber medium
