I'm at 15 days now and the cotyledons on most of my 5 plants are turning yellow besides 2 which are all yellow and on the verge of death. so i read this means it time to fert. Im watering every 3 or 4 days and i gave them the recommended dose for cuttings and seedlings in my last water which is 1/2 tsp/gal of water; im using vigoro all purpose plant food 24-8-16. So how much should do you think i should start using. Im into veg, biggest plant is about 3 inches tall and about 3 or 4 inches wide with its 5th set of leaves beginning to pop out. heres what it is Vigoro :: All Purpose Water Soluble Plant Food and the small tub of fert states... Outdoor garden plants, trees & shrubs - 1 tbsp/gal of water Outdoor potted plants - 1 tbsp/gal of water house plants - 1 tsp/gal of water transplants, cuttings & seedlings - 1/2 tsp/gal of water Right now im growing in a small space under 1 27w CFL in solo cups. Any advice is much appreciated. Edit: forgot to mention that the recommended feedings are for every 14 to 28 days and it says 7 -14 on their website. ![]() | Well as they as young, i would suggest moving to somthing more forgiving. Guanos and Fish emulsions are inexpensive and forgiving. I would give 1/2 of the recomended or even 1/4 dose what it says. and water every other time with ferts and inbetween just regular water. Moving dose up as plant is getting used to the fert if it starts to burn tips you have added too much and back down a few notches. make sure you water when the plant needs it, you want it the get a little dry at the bottom, before you water again. if this takes more than a week to dry you need to probably put some perilite in with your soil next transplant. and general rule of thump 1 gallon of soil to 1 ft of plant. Happy growing! ![]() Also More light! atleast 100watts with cfl's bee good for like a 2x2 small veg box if you need to keep it small. Last edited by RebornJefferson; 07-29-2009 at 01:36 AM.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I also think it's time release ![]() I would start out with 1/2 recommend dose and work up. Are your plants yellow? Do you have a pic? How long ago did you last feed? In soil, it takes awhile for the changes to be seen. I wouldn't use time release ferts ![]() | ||
