Foliar feeding with Fox Farm
permalink

Hey folks,

So got my FF nutes, grow big, big bloom and tiger bloom.
Growin outdoors. Girls are in Veg right now for another 2 to 3 weeks.
Did a "water-in" feeding for first time...but with 30 some odd plants...was pretty labor intensive and a lot of time....also used up a lot of my 1 gallon bloom in this process.

So thinking about foliar feeding and have a few questions.

This should be much more efficient than waterin in right? save some of my concentrates

Can I mix the grow big and big bloom in my sprayer ok?

Same ratios as for watering in?

Best time to feed?

How much to apply?

Can I use with the tiger bloom when they go into preflower?

Can I apply any of the additives like open sesame, etc...with a foliar feeding?

Any other pros and cons of foliar feeding?

Thanks again for any advice/input

I'd say mixing in water and watering it is best. Getting the plants use to eating through the leaves isnt good imo. When they are flowering I wouldn't want to be spraying them with tiger bloom at all. I'd be more focused on watering as normal, and misting them with some bug spray.

TB is harsh stuff. That said i foliar feed my micros as well as mix them in. I dont use FF BB, but some quite similar (if not a bit stronger)

Thanks for the comments and advice stony's....

I posted this before I did some reading, had a few spare hours yesterday...so read just about every thread here on foliar feeding.

I had 2 reasons to get some advice on foliar feeding:
1:use my nutes more efficiently than mixing with water. With 30 or so plants, 5 gallons per feeding....I will use a ton of Big Bloom....you folks in US have it pretty good for pricing....a gallon of big bloom here in Ontario is 75.00.
2. I would like to supplement them between once weekly feedings with additional nutes....just because we have such a short outdoor growing season. Headin to the garden with a sprayer would only take me an hour or so to give them some additional food.

I think what I am going to try is some supplementary feeding on just a few plants, using a weak mix of FF grow big and big bloom...see how they react.

Per your advice and what I read, I am going to stay completely clear of any foliar feeding after the preflowers start to set in.

By the way, I decided to use Fox Farms based upon all the good comments here, and I gotta say....I am wickedly impressed....was up to the garden yesterday.....some girls are in flower and they got some tiger bloom and open sesame....and well they absolutley loved the mix...perked right up and developed a ton more preflowers....and my girls that were vegging got BB and GB and they all gained at least 6" in the last 2 days!!

Thanks
K.
