my plants have been suffering major leaf burn so i went out and bought a PH soil probe..
It showed up that my soil was to alkaline, i couldnt understand this so i went out and bought another PH tester kit that you add 1 drop to your run off this showed up that my soil was to acidic, I'm gonna go with the acidic results, Hope to see a change in a week or two, just be wary of soil testers from "Mc Gregors" save your money and possibly your grow

Beware of any. Ive yet to see any that are accurate.

Dont think Im spending 500 dollars for a decent one either.

Pill bottle, soil sample, distilled water works much better imo.

I agree; soil probe pH meters are notoriously inaccurate.

Quote:
Extension agronomists are often asked by farmers to determine why crop plants are stunted or have abnormally colored leaves. Soil acidity and alkalinity are common fertility problems that can cause these symptoms. In a study to measure the accuracy of in-field pH test kits, hand-held pH meters and pH color indicator kits provided fast and reliable results. Soil pH probes gave poor measurements of soil acidity and should not be used by Extension agents. Results by untrained personnel with hand-held pH meters varied by individual. Agents using pH test kits should read instructions carefully before using these instruments.
