![]() | You need both. Most likely your regular water is going to be higher in pH than you want, you need pH Down for that. Here, it's about 7.5 so I correct down to high 5's, low 6's. You need the ph up for nutrient mixes that might bring the ph down below your desired level. You're doing pH adjustments to avoid nutrient lockouts (most of the time a problem with a plant is pH related, NOT a nutrient deficiency). The kit I bought included a liquid test kit AND the ph Up and ph Down. Hope this helps.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I could be wrong but I think the fish ph adjusters are different materials than whats used by plant companies. Just dont use pool ph adjusters. Plus, plant companies are much cheaper. I go through fish ph up like crazy. In fact I would rather use plant ph in the aquarium its so much cheaper. Might have to email the company and see what they say about that. lol Last edited by stoney-trees; 09-29-2009 at 02:39 PM.. Reason: cuzcuzcuz
