Mad Farmer N.U.T.S
permalink

I was at the hydro shop picking up another bottle of Tiger Bloom and I noticed this stuff from Mad Farmer. I had never heard of them, until the guy at the shop told me about the Get UP (pH up) and Get DOWN (pH down). It has no dies and is cheaper than GH.

Anyway... The stuff was called Mad Farmer N.U.T.S (Nutrient UpTake Solution)

Quote:
The Mad Farmer's N.U.T.S. is an OMRI certified additive that is compatible with ALL other nutrients. The Mad Farmer's N.U.T.S. should be applied as a foliar spray and / or used in conjunction with regular feeding schedules. N.U.T.S. is hydrolysis extracted and totally organic!

The Mad Farmer N.U.T.S. can be used in all media including: soil, rockwool, clay, coco, and soilless mixes.
Quote:
N.U.T.S. is an organic, cold water extracted fulvic acid derived from humic shale. Fulvic acid acts to naturally chelate nutrients and has a high rate of cation exchange due to its low atomic weight. These properties result in higher nutrient uptake as well as increased vitality. N.U.T.S. is UV filtered before bottling to ensure quality.
I wasn't sure what 'chelate' was or 'cation' so I posted links for them incase anyone else is in the same boat.

chelate - Chelation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
cation - Cation-Exchange Capacity

Has anyone used this stuff? Heard of this company? Is this similar to something else on the market? At what stage would you use something like this?

I've used it. Plants like it but be careful the extra uptake in nutes can burn your plants. You might want to experament on a few plants first.. one with it at regular strength and one with it at reduced strenth..let's say 1/2 strength nutes.

Thanks CT - It's a bit pricey at my local shops. Is this product comparable to anything?

I don't know but when I bought mine it was less than the General Hydroponic Version. You may be able to find someone on craigslist or somewhere that will go in 1/2 with you and take 1/2 the bottle. I'd find that person before you buy it that way they know you didn't water it down.
