Making some soil for autoflowerers...
permalink

Ok, so im trying to get ready for a run with some autos. Since they have such a short veg, I was thinking of just mixing a bunch of veg goodies in the soil to last three or four weeks and just water with plain water or teas until flower. Im going with one gallon bags for each plant, mixing everything and then dividing it up, starting the seeds into peat pots, then straight into the bags with the second set of leaves.

I was thinking along the lines of worm castings, a lil blood meal, some guano, and kelp. For the guano I was going to choose the high nitrogen one, I cant remember off the top which one it was, and just mix all these together with FFOF for my soil. I figured that should last me three-four weeks till they start flowering. After that I was going to use teas of guanos, castings, kelp and molasses through till the end every third watering, and hope that gets me a decent result.

Any suggestions from the organics crew would be helpful. Ive got full bottles of GH nutes, but I want to try and go organic this round and see what happens. Partly because of the size of my grow, and the fact that I can buy a bunch of this stuff for fairly cheap to mix in the soil and make teas.

I know the FFOF is ph'd out from the get i think, but how much will the addition of that stuff tweak out my ph? And for one big bag of FFOF, how much of each should I add to get my desired results? Im really looking to mix just enough for veg then ill use the teas to finish out.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

In addition to the nutes in the soil, you might as well supplement with some teas... It won't hurt anything and it could definitely help.

Imo Ocean forest has plenty in it.

I wouldnt add anything to it. Save the stuff like you said for teas. If you want to do a soil mix, Id look into some of subcools recipies. He uses sunshine/promix bales since they contain no nutrients.

Word. Thanks to you both.

I was already planning on doing teas throughout. I was mainly worried about getting plenty of goodies for those first three weeks of veg so that i can maximize my potential. Im trying to get all I can out of these babies. With the teas do you think it would be safe to start using them around week 2, beginning of wk 3, using a mild tea?

They will be under 3 400w and 1 600w lights for a total of 1400 watts. Im thinking I may set the 400's in a triangle with the 600 in the middle. the 4's will be hps and the 6 will be mh so that i get both spectrums all the way through.

Thanks again for your help.
