If your going hempy realize it involves more work and money. You will water twice as much, if not more than soil. This will use up a lot of nutrients also. Ph is important when gorwing with hydroponic nutrients. So a ph pen should be on your list as well.

Not entirely correct Dr Budz. Yeah you do use a little bit more in nutes but not much. You water/feed when the pots are dry just the same as with soil. IRB(or hempy) is one of the simplest forms of growing. It is easy to do and easy to correct any mistakes. I run hempy and soil in my grow box so I know about both. Hydro is complex at times but hempy is not. King if you want to try hempy you can still LST or SCROG if you want. If you want to do it here is what you need. buckets(cup)-(or something without holes in it, what ever size you need to fit your space) perlite-(should be able to find at any garden supply store and sometimes walmart, HD, or lowes) vermiculite-(some people don't use this but I recommend it. Helps hold moisture and adds support to roots. You can get this same place you get the perlite generally) drill bit and drill-( to drill a hole. duh! LOL!) container to mix your medium(medium means perlite/vermiculite) rockwool or peat pellets-(to germinate seeds and give something to retain moisture around roots will the roots hit the reservoir) Here is what you do. Get you bucket(cup). depending on the size of your bucket(cup) determine where you need to put your hole to have a deep enough reservoir(rule of thumb about an inch a gallon container generally works) Drill your hole Mix 3 cups of perlite to 1 cup of vermiculite in a separate container. This is your medium. Germinate seeds in the rockwool or peat pellets once your seedlings come out the top of the cubes fill your buckets with your medium. Bury you cubes about an inch into the medium and water til it comes out the hole(this means your reservoir is full. Make sure to concentrate your watering near the cube til yours hit the reservoir.)(Some people, including me, start giving there plants nutrients from this point on others wait about a week to start giving nutrients.) Water/Feed when the buckets are dry. Remember just water til it comes out the hole to fill reservoir. As far as PH you should keep an eye on it and make sure it is not too high or too low but you should do this no matter what you grow in. Hope this helps man. TC

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I did a side by side soil comparison a while back, regular Miracle Grow did fine, second only to FFOF, the MG organic sucked eggs, worst soil of all, I think the plant in it died, if I remember. ![]() http://www.gardenscure.com/420/plant...omparison.html

I water soil plants every 3-4 days...And thats a small pot. I water hempys every other day. Hempy plants seem to need more nutrients also. So imo, yes, it is more expensive, and is harder than soil. Im not saying its the most expensive, but compared to soil its not the same.

Check your PH again, maybe the nutes are locked up, If you do add nutes, maybe try 1/4 to 1/2 strength.
