Not sure why you were watering so much DR Budz. During Veg I water genereally every three days in the hempys and it takes about three to four days in the soil like you said. When we hit flower it goes to about every other day but the soil goes about every 2 to 3 days durong flower. Towards the end of flower both are getting watered about everyday or two. Maybe your reservoirs on your IRB are too shallow buddy. I'm not sure why it is so different for us. I use the FF feeding schedule so deciding what nutes to give is easy. All around I find hempy to be alot more simple, with soil you never know when you need nutes because the soil naturally has nutrients(normally). Not saying you are wrong I just find it to be the same cost and way simpler to run Hempy buckets.
