I just had a water company test my water and here are my results TDS 98ppm Chlorine 0.4ppm PH7 Hardness 6 grains per gallon (Calcium?) Iron/Manganese 0.5ppm Something they said was that you can usually get a pretty accurate "hardness" by dividing your TDS ppm by 17.1 My question is, what is grains per gallon and should I have to supplement my flora series nutes with calcium or epsom salt? | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() | Ha, not to answer your question, but to say 98ppm seems high. Lower than my tap water (126) but if it tastes funny, you'd love an RO filter in the kitchen to cook with and make ice. Not to mention watering the babies! I got mine from freedrinkingwater.com about 4 years ago, and spend $40 a year for filters. LOVE IT! Their prices were in line with everyone else, and they're still in business. For growing, I'd opt for the larger 14gal tank, or pick one up at a farm store for around $100.... Oh and I use the GH flora too. No you won't need to add anything, unless later you can tell you NEED to add something ![]()
