So I plan to use DWC my question is:

If I have say a 10 gallon res all nuted up and I need to top it off with 1 gallon , do I mix up nutes for the 1 gallon and then add it to the res or add the 1 gallon then add the nutes to the whole res?

I think Im over complicating things but I figured Id ask just to be safe. TY in advance

i would think the nutes would mix better outside the res then pour them in.

So to make sure I understand this I would only be processing what is needed not the actual heel of the res.?

Depending on if your system is gravity fed or not, it will go better if the nutes are in first then the 1 gallon of water. If its gravity fed and you add the water then the nutes, even if you mix them up, it will take awhile for it all to get sucked over to your plants (speaking from my own setup).

But basically the short answer is put your nutes in then mix in the water.
