![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If your soil PH is something other than 6.5, adding 6.5 solution will bring it closer to 6.5, but will never reach it. Why aim for 6.5 anyway? I always thought around 6 was ideal for soil.. but after a brief google search the masses recommend 6.5-7.0. Personally I never measure PH in soil. I use mainly organics, so as long as my nute solution is somewhere between 5.0-7.5 (maybe not that high), the plants will get the optimum nutes automatically. This effect is refered to as 'buffering'. Humic and fulvic acids in the soil medium and nutrient solutions are a main reason that PH does not matter in soil grows. Another main factor that adds PH buffering is microbial activity in the soil medium. Beneficial microorganisms will allow nutrients to be available to the plants regardless of PH, within reason. But to keep this shorter than it already is... how i measure PH is by the health of my plants. | ||
