What kind of fertilizer to use?

In my other post I said maricle gro. You all said no.

I'm going to jewel/ace hardware

What kind should I buy? It has to be small because I'm going on bike.
When I buy it do I follow those instructions if not give me them then.
And how much will it cost about?

I recently switched to Alaska Fish Fertilizer( that's the official name of it) its rated 5-1-1
I know the numbers are a lot lower than miracle grow but that seems to be standard. As in chemical fertilizers have higher numbers(like miracle grow) and organic Ferts have lower numbers. Keep in mind most(if not all) organic ferts are guaranteed not to burn your plants. Which is invaluable for a novice grower because it keeps you from harming your plants out of ignorance(as I did). BTW you can buy it in quart size which will be easy to carry on your bike. I paid $8 for my quart and it does give you directions on the bottle-because it's organic you will not need to use less then the directions tell you, much easier and safer.
I bought the Alaska Fish Fert at Ace hardware so I would recommend you check them out first.
Another product carried by Ace is Lilly Miller Alaskan Fish Emulsion(either product is good-depends what they have in stock in your area)
I would also like to pass on some advice I received on this site and that's to look for products that are OMRI approved.
My Alaska Fish Fert is OMRI approved as is Lilly Miller products.
Grow on!

Edit~I almost forgot...You are probably going to want to get something to add Calcium and Magnesium to the mix, I know not what you wanted to hear but I received this advice from another member and wanted to pass it along to you. He suggested CalMag Plus by Botonicare, I was unable to find this product locally so I ordered my on line. The price was about $17.00 for a quart(and $10 for shipping)

Foxfarm Trio. It works pretty well for someone who is not trying to fuss and it's sold by the quart. Pretty easily transportable.

Tiger bloom and Grow Big are not organic. Use sparingly. Start at 1/4 strength and move up from there...

If you read all the posts, not all of us said NO but....

Home depot also has Neptune's fish emulsion that is cheap and of course 100% organic.

Like girl said, you'll need some Cal/Mg also.
