I started growin weed and all and i got 4 little guys growin. I goto this site and i see that people use this special water and cloning and special lighting and profenial stuff. I feel like a real moron here. All i did was stick like 10 seed is the dirt in a pot indoors and 4 little guys pop out. I transfered them to a bigger pot. Some people told me they gotta be girl plants. I'm like huh cause I learned in school once that flowers have both reprodutive organs build inside. I'm totally clueless so can some1 give me sum advise?????

Well, first off don't feel bad at all! Once you get started you can add to your setup and improve upon it. There are alot of people that grow in soil. Nothing wrong with that! Some wouldn't do it any other way. Although lighting is VERY important it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars to acquire (although it can!) a good light!

As far as sex goes, you are right that some plants produce both male and female flowers on the same plant; these are self fertile plants. Other plants have only male or female flowers and must be pollinated in order to produce seeds; such is the case with weed.

ok lighting is very important got it. I got a little lamp but all these people are using MV or like lightmaster 2000 or some crap like that. Couldn't i use a regular ol lite with a soft white 75w Sylvania 120v light balb. Thats what it says on the balb. I got a blacklight but heard that wouldn't work. There is my lava lamp. It gives of alot of heat though. Does it need to be warm for the plant. I'm thinking of sticking it in my closet. I also mixed urine and water together and microwaved it and gave a little of it in my plants. I got i grow diary in here if ya all wanna see it. Any of u got aol instant messanger?

You are hell bent on killing your plants arent you. Preparation is the key to a successful indoor garden. Incandescent Bulbs do not work. A lava lamp is a joke. Get a 4' florescent light fixture and two 4' plant bulbs ($21=cheap), or you might as well throw the plants in the trash.

hey guess what. My other plants died but one has survived. I bring it outside in the day time then at night use the dumb lamp. Its is starting to grow its 3rd set of leaves. That was May 1. Today is May 10th. i think its not going to die on me.

Keep takin care of it; giving it lots of love but not too much and keep it the sun shining on it and you won't be disappointed

Well, i'm sensing that there was WAY to much moving and handling for the other plants to live. I know how it is to have one plant, cause I started to grown and tried to have someone take care of them, and they were almost all dead... but I saved one! My suggestion is always the same... it'll never change. Just be nice to the plant, put it where it wants to be, OUTSIDE! its the plants frickin natural enviroment. That, and next time you start growing, do it outside too, (not when its cold...) coz if u plant outside, germinating and all, the plant will get adapted to being outside, and will be stronger than a plant inside, because it will learn to cope with wind, rain, sun, etc. Have faith in the little guys, they're just plants, its not that complicated. I just dropped some seeds in my back yard and I have about 8 or 9 plants growing just cause I watered them a few times. It all takes time.
