![]() | Hey people !!! I was reading Todd McCormick's book "How to grow medical marijuana ! In the "transplanting" on page 167, he gives directions to mix Potting soil (60%), perlite (20%), varmiculite (20%) and recommended amount of bat guano (or equivalent fertilizer). So I was thinking, is it the most optimal soil mix for planting Cannabis, or is it just usual mix for planting "home plants" ? I know that Cannabis grows almost everywhere in the world, so it would grow on almost EVERY tipe of land, but whitch one is best ?? The reason i'm asking this is because I can take some humified garden land made out of horse fertilizer and some other "fine" components (not used for mass production, only made in small amounts). Anyway, it's very quality, and I was thinking to use it for my indor garden, but I don't know if it would be better then mixed supstrate. I would like some experts to answer me on this issue (sorry about the terms I use, I hope that you'll recognize what I mean, 'not good with scientific english), if there is any who studies agriculture, or something ?? Thanks for the help !! Cannabis_Plant

![]() ![]() ![]() | In answer to your question, there is no one "perfect" soil mix for growing weed or anything else. Conditions of the constituents vary in quality, grows take place under varying conditions, and some people find they have better luck with some formulas and not others. The key is to experiment, and find out what works best for you. Have fun with it! ![]() the soil mixture you describe sounds like a good organic medium to grow in, although you are a little sketchy on details. (for instance, what are the other constituents aside from horse manure?) you might want to mix in some perlite so it drains well, and since it's going to be high in organic material you need to be careful not to overwater. are you going to grow indoors or out? if you ask more specific questions and provide more details I can help you out a little more ![]() organic ![]()

![]() | does humified mean sterile? from all i have read, everyone uses a sterile soil, this reduces the risk of bringing unwanted pests and diseases. also a soil which is not compact, and very airy (do what organic said add perlite, as it will help drain and also keep some air space in there). i guess b/c it has horse manure, you shouldent have to fert if for a while, or you could over do it. james ![]()
